A great day at Hallworthy with 240 cattle through the ring and a sensational trade to match the quality of the cattle. Top spot today went to the younger side of the market with NJ Hoskin of seeing his 14mth Limousin x Steers with outstanding conformation and appearance to £1165. DW Dingle of Veryan saw his trip rewarded with a stunning pen of 4 British Blue x Steers to £1130. Sharing 3rd spot at £1100 two local men firstly with a pen of 4 cracking Limousin x Steers with stretch and power form JH Bolt & Son of Warbstow. Also Roger Kempthorne of St Tudy with a single Aberdeen Angus Steer with great definition for the breed to £1100. VC Hosking of saw his cattle to a top of £1065 for a strong pair of Limousin x bullocks a realy muscley pair of boys. 18mths British Blue x Steers from R Kempthorne topping out at £1005. Heifers Top spot going to JH Bolt & Son of Warbstow with an outstanding pen of 6 Limousin x heifers Dairy x with size power and shape to £1045. VC Hosking of Helston ran in next with a pair of Limousin x heifers with length and power to £1000 and 13mth Limousin x heifers with a very showy presence to £1005. Younger Cattle Saw a definite premium again as Mr Hoskin cattle at £1165 and heifers to £1005 demonstrates. D Bosley of Camelford saw his 13mth British Blue x Steer to £955 great shapey bullocks and a Charolais at the same age with bone and body to £930 and an Aberdeen Angus x out of a blue cow with shape and power to £925. Steve Nankivell saw his top a pen of sweet Charolais x

Steers to £825. 14-15mth Charolais x Steers from TC Hooper of to a top of £884 with silky skin and plenty of flesh. Friesians Top to £970 for Mr Hosking and R Kempthorne seeing his younger steers to £775.

SHEEP AUCTIONEER STEVE PROUSE 07767 895366 457 DRAFT EWES A large number on offer met a flying trade from start to finish and with 8 active buyers present. With Hill Bred and lean ewes on offer averaged £70.79p a Texel x from Glyn Marquand, Higher Tregonnett, Golberton. Followed by CA Statton of Fennel Farm at £107. Several pens of Suffolk x around £95 to a top of £98 from Peter Uglow, Treluddick Farm. Mules topped at £76 from 3 vendors. Hill Bred ewes to £69. 415 LAMBS

Good entry met a very strong trade overall average of 214.6. Well in front of other markets in the South west. More lambs needed to fulfil buyers orders. Several pens of young sappy lambs 228p and over to a top of 236p for a pen of Continental x 44kgs £104 from Colin Baker, Nanswhyden, St Columb. Followed by 2 vendors at 233p Richard & Bill Pethick, Trevalga 44.6 £104 and CA Statton, Fennel Farm 46kgs £107. 14 pens over £100 to a top of £109 for a pen of Heavies from Rick Cobbledick, Trelash. 49 STORE LAMBS A mixed lot of quality on offer met a strong trade top being £70 from Mr & Mrs C Blanchard , Ottery Barn. More lambs needed.
