Dr. Bidisha Hazra Hindustani Classical Vocal Teacher Cum Performer

Dr. Bidisha Hazra completed her Ph.D under the expert supervision of Prof. Sharada Velanker, Ex. DEAN, Faculty Of Performing Arts, Banaras Hindu University in the year of 2019 with UGC Senior Research Fellowship. Bidisha started her vocal training at the very tender age of six, under the guidance of Shi Smarajit Chatterjee and she is privileged to be trained under the fine tutelage of Pt. Surendra Mohan Mishra, Banaras while she moved to Banaras for her academics and obtained Young Artist Scholarship by Ministry of Culture in the year 2009.

Dr. Hazra has represented BHU in National Youth Festivals for 4 times and bagged many accolades in various events like Classical, Semi-classical, light vocal, patriotic group singing and western band performances as well.

She is keenly interested in various stylistic musical forms and mastered the fine nuances of Khayal, Tappa, - and other north Indian semi classical forms along with Bangla Baul, Nazrul Geeti, Rabindra Sangeet, Atul Prashadi, Ragashrayee and Adhunik Bangla Gaan as well as Western Harmonics.

She also worked with various non profit NGO organisations to spread the love and healing power of music and made modules for Mobile Application. She is a dedicated musician and a loving mentor. She has worked with a vast range of age group and different background people which definitely emphasises her leadership quality and integrity. Bidisha wants to collaborate with different genres of world music and connect with the universe by the soft power of pure Indian Classical Music.
