The demolitions, which are part of the restructuring plan set in motion by the entry into operation of the Udine Ovest – Redipuglia power line which aims to improve the safety and efficiency of the local electricity system, have freed and restored around 140 hectares of land, reclaiming over 315 tonnes of steel from the pylons and around 100 tonnes of aluminium and steel from the conductors. The reclaimed materials have been sent to specialised companies to be disposed of and entered back into the production cycle.

The demolition of the old power line has also helped to reduce significant interference with civil infrastructure and liberate the residential areas which were developed following its construction.
