    Clonmel Advertiser. 20-4-1822 We regret having to mention a cruel and barbarous murder, attended with circumstances of great audacity, that has taken place on the borders of Tipperary and Kilkenny. A farmer of the name of Morris, at Killemry, near Nine-Mile-House, having become obnoxious to the public disturbers, received a threatening notice some short time back, he having lately come to reside there. On Wednesday night last a cow of his was driven into the bog, where she perished; on Thursday morning he sent two servants, a male and female, to the bog, the male servant to skin the cow and the female to assist him; but while the woman went for a pail of water, three ruffians came, and each of them discharged their arms at him, and lodged several balls and slugs in his body, and then went off. This occurred about midday. No one dared to interfere, either for the prevention of this crime, or to follow in pursuit of the murderers. The sufferer was quite a youth, and had committed no offence, even against the banditti, but that of doing his master’s business. Clonmel Advertiser 24-8-1835 Last Saturday, being the fair day at Carrick-on-Suir, and also a holiday in the Roman Catholic Church, an immense assemblage of the peasantry poured into the town at an early hour from all directions of the surrounding country. On a night in the early summer of 1917 I attended a meeting which was held in a place called Downey's Barn at Clamps Castle, Fethard. This meeting was called for the purpose of organising an Irish Volunteer company in Fethard and district, and, if I mistake not, the late Paddy Hogan of Cashel, afterwards Commandant of the 2nd Battalion, Was one of those principally concerned In arranging the meeting. He was certainly present that night and was, as far as I can now remember, the principal speaker. The meeting itself was a small one, as for obvious reasons only a selected number of men were invited to attend. I should say, however, that there were about twenty men present, all of whom agreed to become members of the Volunteer organisation In the election of officers which followed I was elected as Captain of the company, James Keating of Brookhill was elected 1st Lieutenant, James Tierney of Fethard was elected Company Adjutant and Tommy Lee of Fethard was elected Quartermaster. Company There was no activity of note at that time. After the company was formed weekly parades were held, generally at Downey's Barn, and training in foot drill was engaged in.

This settlement is located in the eastern part of the county in close proximity to the Kilkenny border. Infrastructure Water Supply: There is currently an adequate water supply in Ahenny Waste Water: There is currently no wastewater treatment system in Ahenny Development Objectives DO1 The Council will seek to protect views from the village centre towards the surrounding uplands. DO2 The Council will seek the retention of existing stone buildings and stonewalls as part of new development. DO3 As opportunities arise the Council will seek the enhancement of the visual amenities of the village and the provision of a village centre focal point. DO4 The Council will seek to improve the carriageway and junction definition in order to facilitate the appropriate expansion of the village.     MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB LIMITED (ACN 005 686 902) DIRECTORS' REPORT To the Members of the Melbourne Football Club Limited ("the Club" or "MFC") The Directors hereby present their report pursuant to the requirements of the Corporations Act 2001 on the state of affairs of the Club at 31 October 2010. Jim Stynes Jim has been a director and President of the Melbourne Football Club Limited since 12 June 2008. Jim has particular involvement at Board level on our playing list management, our supporter groups, and our relationships with the AFL and the Melbourne Cricket Club. Jim played his first senior game for the Melbourne Football Club in 1987 and retired 264 games later in 1998. He received the Brownlow Medal in 1991, and won four Melbourne Football Club Best & Fairest awards (1991, 1995, 1996, 1997), equalling the Club record. He played an AFL record-breaking 244 consecutive games between 1987 and 1998. Jim was inducted into the AFL Hall of Fame in 2003 and Melbourne’s Hall of Fame in 2006. Jim co-founded The Reach Foundation in 1994, and currently serves as an executive director, having recently stepped down as CEO. Reach is a non-profit, non-denominational organisation committed to supporting young people. Reach works with over 50,000 teenagers a year, encouraging them to discover their purpose and realise their potential in a positive and supportive learning environment. Jim was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in 2007 for his work with youth and contribution to AFL. Don McLardy Don has been a director of the Melbourne Football Club Limited since 12 June 2008, and was appointed Vice President on 27 June 2008.
