Brian Regan Returns to Pikes Peak Center FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Comedian Brian Regan returns to Pikes Peak Center Thursday, February 6, 2020 Tickets will go on sale on Friday, October 18 COLORADO SPRINGS (October 14, 2019) -- Critics, fans, and fellow comedians agree: Brian Regan is one of the most respected comedians in the country with Vanity Fair calling him, “The funniest stand-up alive,” and Entertainment Weekly calling him, “Your favorite comedian’s favorite comedian.” Having built his 30-plus year career on the strength of his material alone, Regan’s non- stop theater tour continuously fills the most beautiful venues across North America, visiting close to 100 cities each year. On Thursday, February 6, 2020, Regan will bring his comic genius to Pikes Peak Center for the Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets, which range in price from $42.50 to $62.50 plus applicable fees, will go on sale on Friday, October 18 and can be purchased at the Pikes Peak Center and The Broadmoor World Arena box offices and online at PikesPeakCenter.com, BroadmoorWorldArena.com and AXS.com. A regular on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Regan is the rare guest who the show invites on for two segments: a performance segment and a segment on the couch to chat with Jimmy. Previously, Regan was a regular guest on The Late Show with David Letterman, making 28 appearances on the CBS show. Regan appeared at Carnegie Hall in 2017 following years of performances in New York City’s finest theaters including Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall, The Beacon Theater and Radio City Music Hall. His tour has also included regular visits to Denver’s legendary 8,600-seat Red Rocks Amphitheater. In 2015, Regan made history with his stand-up special, Brian Regan: Live From Radio City Music Hall, as the first live broadcast of a stand-up special in Comedy Central’s history. However, when an artist's work fails to fit neatly into the statutory parameters needed to acquirecopyright protection, that artist could receive no safeguards to ensure that their works will not be misappropriatedby others. This article undertakes a comparative analysis of two copyright regimes-from the United States and the United Kingdom-and measures their relative similarities and differences. From this comparison, this article explains how stand-up comedians, a group of artists who have traditionally believed their work was incapable of receiving copyright protection, could receive copyright protection for their jokes in both jurisdictions.
