SYMPOSIUM LOCATIONS Both the symposium venue (“The Spot”) and the symposium dinner venue (“University House”) are located on the Parkville campus of the University of Melbourne and can be found in the AIB (Oceania) Symposium map.

For a more detailed map of the University of Melbourne campus use this link. The symposium venue (“The Spot”) is building 110; the symposium dinner venue (“University House”) is building 112.

The university was founded in 1853, with the first students welcomed in 1855. Those wanting to learn more about the history of the University and the Faculty of Business and Economics should visit: http://our-history.unimelb.edu.au/exhibitions/160-years-of-melbourne-university/#BusEco

ACCOMMODATION Due to the centralised nature of the university’s Parkville campus, finding suitable accommodation should not be a problem. Some nearby hotels are indicated in the following link. Many more additional options are available.

For those looking for a budget option, the Melbourne Metro YHA and Melbourne Central YHA are two hostels reasonably close to campus. Both hostels have a variety of rooms and accept online credit card bookings. PUBLIC For your transportation needs within the city area, we recommend the public transit system in Melbourne. There is a free tram zone in the Melbourne CBD – refer to map below. (The University campus is just north of the free tram zone).

For travel outside this zone you must purchase a "" pass which allows travel on trams, busses, and trains. The Myki pass needs to be “charged” with funds at the time of purchase or at a vending machine. It can then be used to “swipe on” with all forms of public transport (except the Skybus).
