Everyone’s favorite weekend is upon us, and the weather forecast calls for three dry days(outside chance of showers on Saturday), with temperatures in the low-mid 60s. Of course, it’s supposed to get up to 76d on Wednesday! Of course, if you’ve been to Penn before, you know to go prepared for any type of weather. The final rosters for teams competing in the USA-World series haven’t been released yet, but fans can expect to see many of the stars from last year’s Olympics, including the U.S. women’s 4x100 team of Tianna (Madison) Bartoletta, , Bianca Knight, and that set an amazing World Record of 40.82 in . Jeter might be a no-show after pulling up in a 100-meter race this past weekend. Texas A&M and LSU will renew their rivalry in the men’s and women’s relays, and Oregon is bringing in a full squad (men and women) that could challenge for recognition as the #1 team of the weekend. 2013 marks some significant milestones at the Relays. It is the 50th anniversary of Boston College’s win in the men’s Distance Medley, anchored by none other than TV’s Larry Rawson, and Fordham’s meet-record win in the men’s 4-mile relay. Running the 2nd leg on that team was Dr.Norbert Sander, the Director of the Armory T&F Foundation!. It will also be a personal milestone, since this will be my 50th straight trip to Franklin Field for the Relays. I ran in a high school mile relay in 1961, but didn’t start attending the “Penns” as a fan until 1964!

Following is an event-by-event look at the 119th running of the Penn Relay Carnival. Bib numbers/letters are listed where available, as well as 2013 bests. Be sure to buy the Penn Relays program--it’s the best in the sport.
