The shire is made up of over 100 localities spread over 3,855 square kilometres of rolling green hills, towns, mountains and top agricultural land. Baw Baw Shire has a population of over 38,500 and local community members to provide these people which is expected to grow to almost 48,000 by services. June 2031. Warragul is the shire’s largest town with a population of over 11,500 people.
