LEVEL 4 • You can perform football skills with control and some accuracy, precision and fluency (e.g. passing, receiving, shooting). • You can link football specific skills (e.g. passing and moving) and understand tactics of game play. • You can identify differences in your own and others performance and use this information to improve your performance. • You can describe the effects of exercise on your body.

LEVEL 5 • You can perform skills with some consistency, showing control, precision and fluency. (e.g. passing, receiving, crossing, shooting). • You can select appropriate skills and tactics and are able to combine these to use at the correct time in changing situations. (e.g. step over and a change of pace to get round opponents.) • You can identify differences and use this information to modify and refine skills. • You can describe the effects of exercise on the body, and why exercise is good for fitness and health.

LEVEL 6 • You can perform skills with consistency, showing control, precision and fluency. (e.g. passing, receiving, crossing, shooting). • You can select appropriate skills and tactics and combine these consistently at the correct time in changing situations. (e.g. one touch control / passing and formations in attack and defence) • You can identify differences and use this information to analyse specific aspects of performance. • You can describe ways of warming up and cooling down, and know how to get involved in activity out of school.

LEVEL 7 • You can perform skills with consistency, showing control, precision, fluency and originality. (e.g. turning on the ball at pace). • You can select appropriate advanced skills and tactics and combine these consistently at the correct time in changing situations. (e.g. chest control and volley) • You know how skills and tactics relate to quality of performance. • You can plan your own exercise programme.

LEVEL 8 • You can perform skills with a high standard of consistency and flair, showing control, precision, fluency and originality. (e.g. ) • You understand advanced tactics and apply these to your own and others` performances. (e.g. zonal defence and role of sweeper). • You know how skills and tactics relate to quality and effectiveness of performance. • You can plan and evaluate your own and others exercise programme.

EXCEPTIONAL PERFORMANCE • You perform advanced skills, techniques and ideas with precision and fluency. (eg controlling ball with all parts of body). • You consistently use advanced tactics and apply these to your own and others` performances. (e.g. able to wrong foot opponents one on one with variety of techniques at pace). • You know how skills and tactics relate to quality and effectiveness of performance and originality. • You can consistently apply appropriate knowledge and understanding of health and fitness in all aspects of your work.
