FOREWORD

My most humble pranams at the Lotus Feet of our beloved Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba for the golden opportunity given to me for work as a District President of Akola District. Keeping Bhagwan Baba’s Mantra “Manav Seva is Madhav Seva” in mind, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organization, Akola has undertaken various activities of three wings which includes , nagar Sankirtan, Swadhyay, Bal-Vikas and Seva activities i.e. Special tribal seva , Mega medical camp, Eye camp, Dental camp, Mobile medical seva through mobile medical van, Blood donation camp and Sale of sai literature. In the coming years, SSSO, Akola will focus to undertaking the various seva activities under the three wings i.e. spiritual, educational and seva wing to serve the society. I pray to Bhagwan Baba for his constant guidance and grace so that we may remain as an instrument to carry out the diferent service activities. As we all know, He is the doer, owner, knower, giver and we are only the instrument in his Divine Hands.

The Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, founded by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba in the year 1965, is a service organisation with a spiritual core and base to benefit all mankind irrespective of , caste, creed or sect. The Organisation serves as a platform for its members to undertake service and other activities motivated by an urge for one's own transformation with the aim of realising one's inherent divinity. Without any distinction of religion, nationality, race, socio- economic status, either for those who work in the Organisation or for those who are served by it, the Organisation transcends all barriers leading humanity towards the ideal of 'Fatherhood of and Brotherhood of Man'. The concept of fees or membership subscription is alien to the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, for there cannot be any fee or subscription for one's journey towards his own self. The organisation functions through its primary units called as Samithis and Bhajan Mandalis of which individuals - from different strata of society, different ethnic groups pursuing different and -are members bound by the dictum of “Love all, Serve All” and pursue their own sadhana towards self-transformation following the path of selfless service to humanity. At no point is an individual asked to follow a certain religion or . On the contrary each is inspired to follow his own so as to ensure that a becomes a better Hindu, a Muslim becomes a better Muslim, a Christian becomes a better Christian and so on. In fact, this spiritual basis inspires everyone to pursue his own religion better by putting into practice Love and Selflessness. That is why the Organisation features in its emblem the symbols of the major religions of the world.

“The Organisations named after Me are not to be used for publicising My Name, or creating a new cult around My ….They must render seva (service) to the helpless, the sick, the distressed, the illiterate and the needy. Their seva (selless service) should not be exhibitionistic; it must seek no reward, not even gratitude or thanks from the recipients. Seva is sadhana (spiritual exercise), not a pastime of the rich and well placed. You must have the irm that the aim of this Organisation is to remove the obstacles that keep man away from God, that separate maanavathwa (Humanity) from Maadhavathwa (Divinity).. The members of the organisation work as one cohesive unit, whether as sevadals providing service at Prashanthi Nilayam, at medical camps, doing Narayan seva or the bal-vikas gurus who work with young children to inspire in them a desire to inculcate the five human values of Truth, THE 9 POINT CODE OF CONDUCT AND 10 PRINCIPLES Every member of the Organisation is expected to undertake Sadhana (spiritual discipline) as an integral part of his/her daily life by abiding by the following Nine Point Code of Conduct which has been bestowed by Baba for one’s spiritual and personal development. In addition, the ten principles that forms the core of guidance for all the members of the Organisation as ordained by Baba himself are also produced hereunder. The nine point code of conduct and the ten principles are fundamental to the spiritual development of the members of the Sai Organisations.

BRIEF HISTORY

Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organization, Akola started functioning in the form of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithi in the year 1973. The Samithi started functioning by the active involvement of Late Shri. S. K. Bhatia, Late Shri. G. K. Sawargaonkar, Late Shri. Mathur and Dr. M. B. Tank. The Sai Samithi activities were restricted to Akola city only during 1970s, however, the jurisdiction was extended in the rural and semi-urban areas of Akola district in the early 1980s. First samithi out of Akola city was started functioning at village Sonkhas during the year 1983 by the extensive visits by Dr. D. R. Bhagwat and his team. In the subsequent years, 7 samithis and 4 bhajan mandalis were established with their consistent eforts. Dr. D. R. Bhagwat went on to become State President of Maharashtra in the year 1982 and organized The irst State Conference at Akola in the year 1983. Similarly, a special train was arranged to Puttaparthy in which around 1000 devotees traveled and took the opportunity to have Divine Darshan of Bhagwan Baba in the year 1990. During 1998 when Akola district was divided and a new district in the name Washim was formed, the above samithis and bhajan mandalis excluding Akola samithi were included in the newly formed Washim district. There after ive new samitis and four bhajan mandlis were formed in Akola district

DIVINE VISIT

Sri Sathya Sai Baba visited Akola in response to the constant by Dr. D. R. Bhagwat, the then S.P. of Maharashtra and an ardent devotee of Bhagwan Baba. Swamy during that visit arrived at Akola Airport at 29th January 1985 11.00 hrs and He irst visited Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola where he was welcomed by the then Vice-Chancellor Late Dr. K. R. Thakare. Thousands of devotees were assembled at the University Convocation Ground for the Divine Darshan of Bhagwan Baba. The Swamy then blessed the residence of Dr. D. R. Bhagwat with his devine presence and delivered the discourse for the oice bearers, active workers and Balvikas Gurus of nearby districts. Swamy then addressed a huge gathering at Vasant Desai Stadium, Akola where almost 1 lakh public were present. Finally, Swamy left for Mumbai in the evening..

The Organisation serves as a platform for its members to undertake spiritual practices through its various wings such as spiritual, education and service for their own betterment. The thrust is on self-transformation for it is only individual transformation that would ultimately lead to global transformation. MEDICAL CENTERS

Four Medical Centers are in Operation in Four villages. 1. Kanheri (Gavali) : 3660 beneficiaries 2. Manki : 2908 beneficiaries 3. Patur Nanasaheb : 1502 beneficiaries 4. Nakashi: 3348 beneficiaries.

In these Center total 11428 Patients were given medical facilities.

MEDICAL VAN :-

Two Medical vans are running in Akola District. 1. Van No. MH-43-5769 – Regular medical camp are being at the folloeing villages Sangola, Chatari, Tulanga, Degaon, Chandur, Mahagaon, Kumbhari, Khadki, Babhulgaon, Shindkhed and Dhadham. Also Visited to some slum areas and old age homes in Akola City. In 2018-19, total 20,723 beneficiaries are benefitted. 2. Van No. MH-43-AT-3681- This Van Specially Run by tribal Area of Melghat Shri Sathya Sai mobile medicare project in Akola District During April 2018 to March 2019. Medical facilities was provided to 8 villages i.e. Khatkali, Chandanpur, Chipi Bhili, Borva, Khongla , Mankari, Vastapur, Chichpani were total 28,372 beneficiaries got benefit .

We also have Regular Dental check-up , General Check-up and providing a stationary at following Schools.

STATE COFERENCE :-

The State Conference was organized at Spiritual centre Sant Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan , Shegaon Dist. Buldhana on 27, 28 Oct. 2018 for two days. All the state oice bearer and overall 1100 delegates From Maharastra and Mumbai Metro Participated in the Conference.

Honorable All India President Shri NimishBhai Pandya, Former state president shri Ramesh Sawant, All India Spiritual Co ordinator Shri. Muralibhaiya Jaju, State President of Mumbai metro Shri Anoopji Saxena, State president of Goa Shri Prakash Dharwatkar, were the chief personalities who guided the delegates in the conference.

By the devine grace of bhagwan Baba, After taking the responsibility as a state president in July 2018 , Shri Shriramji Satpute left no stone unturned to make this conference successful. Shri M.L. Dole former zonal Co- Ordinator, Shri S.R. Tiwari Formal district President , Shri Kishor Ratnaparkhi Zonal Youth Co ordinator Akola, District Presidents and Sevadals of Akola, Buldhana and Washim Districts also assisted the state in the State conference. SPIRITUAL WING

Bhajans :- Weekly bhajans are conducted regularly in the District. Special bhajans are conducted on special occasion.

Akhand Bhajans :- On10th and 11th November 2018 Akhand Bhajan was organized at Akola Samithi for the welfare of humanity. Total 120 devotees from Akola and Five samithis were participated in the bhajan and The Balvikas strudents also participated.

Nagar Sankirtan :- Nagar Sankirtans were conducted once in the month on the various holy festivals

. Veda Chanting:- Veda Chanting programme was organized monthly in Akola City in house of devotees, to remove negative thought and deliver purity of minds.

Sadhana Camps :- One sadhana camp was organized in akola city on the 12 jane 2019 where the 90 devotees from four samithis were participated in this camp. And second camp held on 21 march 2019 on the occasion of “Rang Panchami ” at Spiritual place Waghagad where the 90 devotees participated in this camp. EDUCATIONAL WING

Rajeshwar Convent School Akola taken as a balvikas school 20 to 25 teachers’ orientation was conducted.

Balvikas Guru Training was organized for Group-II at Akola on Dated 13 Aug 2018 in which 18 Gurus were Participated. Another Balvikas guru training at manki was held on 15 Dec 2018 where 15 gurus participated. Balvikas Parent Awareness meeting conducted at Akola on dated 17 Jan 2019 in which 30 parents attended the meeting.

Eshwaramma Day was celebrated on 6 May 2018 at Suryodaya Balgruha Malkapur Akola on this occasion Notebooks, napkins and fruits were distributed to the children as well 1 quintal Wheat and Rice were also denoted. Bhajan And Cultural Programme were performed by Balvikas Students

SERVICE WING

Hospital visit :- On eve of mahila day our mahila sevadal along with some gents sevadal used to visit Govt. Womens hospital at Akola on every 19thday of each month. In which they meet mahilas with new born babies and guiding them for their better health. Sevadal provide them fruits and supplementary food and Sai proteins.

Narayan Seva :- Monthly Narayan Seva was conducted on the Matoshri old age home on last Sunday of every month. In which food was provided to around 25 old ladies and gents.

National Narayan Seva :- On the occasion of Swamy’s birthday Narayan sevawas performed at Cancer hospital , old age home and suryoday balgruha. Fruits and Foodswere provided over 130 people. National Narayan Seva was also conducted at Sant Tukaram Hospital Akola, old Age Home Shivar on 24th Apr 2018.

Mother and Child Care Programme (Medical Awareness) :- Mahila Sevadal of Akola Used to visit villages manki, sangola and Tulanga Bk in District and guided the girl and Women regarding their health, hygiene and food intake. State Mother and Child Conference was organized at Bhadravati Dist. Chandrapur in month 2 and 3 February of in which 14 mahilas from Akola dist. participated.

Eye Camp :- 3 to 4 Eye camp were organized each month at various villages and Cataract patients operated Dammani Eye Hospital Akola. In 2018-19, 43 camps organized in which 7439 patients were checked and 2430 cataract operations were performed.

Blood Donation Camp :- Three Blood Donation Camp was conducted between January and March of 2019 in which 122 donors donated liquid love (blood). Four blood grouping camp was arranged in which 172 patients got benefited.

Dental Camp :- 27 Dental camp were organized during 2018- 19 and 3142 patients were treated. Tribal Area Seva Activity:- In village Khatkali about 70 km away from Akola the following activities were conducted 1. Malnutrition Poshak Aahar :- 40 children were freed from malnutrition. 2. Vidya Jyoti Program:- School Bag, Note books, Clothes were distributed to 92 children & health & hygiene awareness were given to them.

Diwali Festival and Festival Celebrated with the villagers in Melghat. Hair cutting of children /bathing/ Nail cutting etc. were performed by sevadal of Akola & Washim District. Mahaprasad was prepared & distributed to 600 villagers.

Mega Medical Camp :-Four Mega Medical Camp were organized in one village and 3 slum areas of Akola City. In this camp 1) Pediatric, 2) Skin, 3) Heart, 4) Diabetic, 5) Blood Pressure, 6) ENT, 7) Dental Specialist Doctors rendered their services. Total 3054 patients availed above facilities Blood donation camp.

Swachata Se Divyata Tak :- In village Manki and Akolkhed Swachata Abhiyan was performed by the Seva Dal, balvikas Students of the village.

Rain water harvesting :- Nala Deepening at SSVIP Village at Manki Village was performed by SSSSO Akola.

One Sevak of Akola rendered his seva as a Vibronics practitioner. The seva is given 5 days in a week. On an average 20 patients were treated daily & approximately 400 patients were treated monthly. This seva is being done since last three years.

It is to submit that the activities in the District as well as in the State took momentum under the proper guidance of our State President Shri Shriram Satputeji.
