It has grown significantly with 43 staff and a total budget of $630 million…which covers everything from hospital funding to community President Ken’s theme for our Club this year… health initiatives. Our LHIN serves 231,000 people in the Northwest “LIGHT UP ROTARY” down from 252,000 when the LHIN started out 10 years ago. Later in 1975 he made a pilgrimage to the American Deep South where he met established blues musicians Son House, Peg Leg Sam, and . He learned to play electric guitar when, in 1976, David Wilcox asked him to join his band. In 1977 while playing in Edmonton, he met the 13-year old budding bluesman, . Later in the 1970's he formed his own band Group du Jour.

In the 1980's he recorded albums influenced by 's original members , , and . In 1987 he signed a publishing deal and did some production. In 1991 he joined ;s band as a sideman, and stayed with him for 8-1/2 years. In 2001 he moved to Nashville, Tennessee and recorded albums—blues and gospel blues. . Colin FELLOWSHIP FINES: Karl was pressed into service and was determined to collect tribute from everyone present. He started out with tribute from P-E Volker Linden for starting the meeting a little past our usual time. A few others who arrived after the appointed time were also recognized. Those in the room who have not yet purchased their Shrimp Fest tickets were acknowledged and invited to pay tribute. Clint paid a happy dollar to promote Liz Buset’s new art exhibition coming up on Saturday – see details at the end of this Chronicle. Volker paid a happy dollar for meeting up with Glen Coulter today and making a good connection related to food security and access to food throughout the north. Audrey shared her happy dollar with her story of someone they met while in Mexico on vacation who is up in our area now for some work and who invited Audrey and her husband to dinner. Allan shared his happy dollar to promote the Shrimp Fest and get us all moving on the hunt for silent auction items. Giuseppe’s happy dollar was to let us know that the “Burger Menu” has returned to Timbers for the summer months. Richard shared his happy dollar to remind us all that the Spring Home Show is on this weekend at the CLE.

There are two excellent tours offered. The Duluth Historical Tour will be offered for spouses and guests on Friday and Saturday. The Duluth Brewery Tour is open to Rotarians, spouses and guests on Thursday afternoon, and on Friday and Saturday for spouses and guests.

You'll enjoy the speakers, breakout sessions, Youth Exchange presentation and great food. District Conference is a time of celebration, seeing friends and making new ones.
