The women’s squad claimed its 10th out- door title and completed the Triple Crown after also win- ning the league’s cross country and indoor track and field championships during the 2009-10 campaign. The men won their first title since 1991, upsetting Army by three points for the closest finish in league history. 1 2010-11 Bucknell Cross Country/Track & Field BEING A BISON What it means to be a bison “... the pursuit of athletics in college need not interfere with a fellow’s studies, and if you give a boy a well developed body his brain will get the benefit of it.” — Christy Mathewson, in his book Won in the Ninth, written in 1910 The term “student-athlete” sig- nifies something extraordinary on the campus of Bucknell University. Being a Bison means that you have the rare blend of physi- cal skills along with the drive and passion needed to succeed at the highest level of collegiate athletics.
