OVERVIEW Come On, Let’s Play! is the main project of Shakhtar Social. FC Shakhtar started implementing it in Donetsk back in 2013 COME ON, LET’S PLAY! OVERVIEW Come On, Let’s Play! is the biggest CSR project in Ukraine aimed at developing children’s grassroots football In the 2019/20 season, its geography expanded to 36 settlements in the country Participants are mainly boys and girls aged 7 to 12, including kids with disabilities COME ON, LET’S PLAY! OVERVIEW ‘Come On, Let’s Play!’ major objectives: . forming the habit of practicing sports . fostering universal human values COME ON, LET’S PLAY! VALUES COME ON, LET’S PLAY! FOOTBALL ON THE FRONTLINE 8 locations close to the frontline in Donetsk and Luhansk regions affected by the military conflict in Eastern Ukraine since 2014 COME ON, LET’S PLAY! FOOTBALL ON THE FRONTLINE The aim is to improve social inclusion of children living close to the frontline, refugees and socially disadvantaged children 582 participants – boys and girls, aged 7 to 12 years old COME ON, LET’S PLAY! FOOTBALL ON THE FRONTLINE The 16 local tournaments 'Come On, Let's Play!' were conducted in autumn 2019 and autumn 2020 for more than 500 beneficiaries The FC Shakhtar players Maksym Malyshev and David Khocholava visited frontline locations to participate in football activities COME ON, LET’S PLAY! FOOTBALL ON THE FRONTLINE The M&E activities were conducted in partnership with EFDN and Upshot, the WEMWBS scale and its approach were used to measure the self-esteem and well-being of the beneficiaries There are overall well-being and self-esteem improvements resulting in a positive impact on the project COME ON, LET’S PLAY! INCLUSION ‘Come On, Let’s Play!’ project promotes social inclusion, providing an opportunity to children with disabilities to play football 6 cities of Ukraine Disabilities: autism, Down syndrome, deafness, cerebral palsy 290 children with disabilities FC Shakhtar players regularly attend ‘Come On, Let’s Play’ training sessions COME ON, LET’S PLAY! GENDER EQUALITY About 30% of girls consider football to be exclusively a men's sport, but at the same time 45% of girls loved to play football in childhood (Source: U-Report) COME ON, LET’S PLAY! GENDER EQUALITY Shakhtar Social in close cooperation with United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) supports gender equality and makes football popular among girls 432 participants of ‘Come On, Let’s Play!’ project are girls COME ON, LET’S PLAY! GENDER EQUALITY Together with United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and Special Olympics, we launched training sessions for girls with special needs in autumn 2019 4 cities, 80 girls COME ON, LET’S PLAY! ACTIVITIES DURING THE PANDEMIC ‘Come On, Let’s Play!’ training sessions were suspended due to the pandemic and the foundation conducted online activities in 2020 Shakhtar Social organized a challenge for young football fans. Once a week, the children learned about one of the 7 values of the ‘Come On, Let’s Play!’ COME ON, LET’S PLAY! GET THE PASS! More than 80 children in the ‘Come On, Let’s Play!’ project all over Ukraine took part in an online activity named ‘Get the Pass!’ FC Shakhtar goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov answered questions from the winners of the ‘Get the Pass!’ online activity COME ON, LET’S PLAY! PLAYER CHARITY The players’ regular personal charity events for the Come On, Let’s Play! participants Several CSR initiatives were implemented by FC Shakhtar players Andriy Pyatov, David Khocholava and Mykola Matviienko COME ON, LET’S PLAY! AWARDS More Than Football Award 2019 – Europe’s best CSR initiative UN Partnership for Sustainability Award 2019 – finalist in the Society category 2020 UEFA Grassroots Awards – Shakhtar won Silver in the Best Professional Football Club category OUR COMMITMENT To develop long-term partnerships with stakeholders, ‘!!!!!!!!!! donors, NGOs and government to increase the social influence OUR PARTNERS UKRAINIAN ORGANISATIONS.
