Moby and Roots Manuva give sexdicillion* reasons to buy new single * sexdicillion is 10 followed by 51 zeros US artist Moby announced today he has teamed with London digital music company Digimpro to use the new di music format to enhance his new single. Moby’s new track Lift Me Up – released today – comes with the new di music player that gives fans the ability to edit and personalise tracks using alternative, original material that is also included with the single, and resave them as MP3 files. The scope of the alternative materials is unlimited, with Moby providing a number of alternative vocals, guitar, drums and base tracks. Far beyond traditional remix software, di also allows for real time and randomly generated remixes using these alternative tracks. Available for both download and CD sales, the di player can produce almost infinite variations and works on all PCs and can be transferred to digital music players. The new single contains enough alternative tracks to be able to create 3.96x1051 (that’s nearly four sexdecillion) versions. With that many combinations no two are ever going to be the same, so each version is truly personal. As a famously forward-looking artist, Moby is very aware of the attraction of being able to remix your favourite music using authentic tracks. “Anyone who loves music can see the benefits of the di format. It’s simple, interactive and rewarding. I had so many things that I wanted to do with Lift Me Up and now with di fans can see some of the other things I had in mind, and can come up with their own mixes as well,” Moby said. Moby’s record label Mute expects the inclusion of di to significantly boost sales volumes.
