Most classes are offered in portuguese. Therefore, Language requirements B1 level in portuguese is recommended. A Mercosur Visa or a Visa is required to enroll at Unicamp and can be obtained from the consular division of the Brazilian Embassy or Consulate in the student’s country of origin. A visa must be requested early enough to allow time for bureaucratic procedures, w Other requirements hich can be quite lengthy. Although it is possible to change visa status while in Brazil, this is not recommend ed, sincethis procedure is very time consuming. For this r eason, we strongly advise you to enter Brazil with a Mer cosur or Student Visa. No hard copies are needed. Students must be nominated by their home institution to the appropriate Assistant by email and online. Besides being nominated, students must also apply Application online here during the application period. If a student plans to extend their stay, they need to be nominated and apply again. Course Information Visiting (exchange) students may request classes in all schools, keeping in mind the restrictions described below. Courses available for exchange student Class schedules (Undergraduate and graduate) are available in the link below.

The following academic areas have restrictions and only the following classes may accept foreign students:

Medicine: Only theory courses (up to two courses, one month each, upon Coordinator approval). More Information and Application: FCM website

Music: Only for Music major applicants, especially instrument classes.

Odontology: Only theory courses.

Courses restrictions for exchange student Art Courses: Only for Art major applicants.

Sports Courses: Only for Sports major applicants.

Thesis and final projects: most units do not accept students for thesis and final projects, even if no exam is required.

Language Courses: Only Portuguese for foreigners or Portuguese for Spanish speakers, and ONLY if the student takes the placement prior to the beginning of classes.

Class schedules (Undergraduate and graduate) are available Registration Period in the link below. Unicamp offers a Portuguese for foreigners class. It is semester-long and are free of charge. However, availability is limited and enrollment is not guaranteed. In addition, only students who arrive in time for the placement interview (offered the week prior to the beginning of classes) are able to enroll. Classes are offered ONLY in Campinas. In Do you offer language courses for exchange January/February of 2020, Unicamp will offer a Pre-sessional students? Portuguese class for basic speakers (A2 level) in order to help them practice their Portuguese and reach an intermediate level (B1) by the beginning of the semester. Others UNICAMP requires that all foreign students have international health insurance. It is advisable for students to take out medical insurance with an insurance company in their home country that provides coverage abroad. Private hospitals and clinics in Campinas provide a good service Insurance Requirement but are usually expensive.

Most medications are available in Brazilian , but some require a Brazilian prescription. For this reason, students should bring their most frequently used prescription drugs.
