  • Psaudio Copper
Issue 133 MARCH 29TH, 2021 Copper has a new look! So does the rest of the PS Audio website, the result of countless hours of hard work. There's more functionality and easier access to articles, and additional developments will come. There will be some temporary glitches and some tweaks required – like high-end audio systems, magazines sometimes need tweaking too – but overall, we're excited to provide a better and more enjoyable reading experience. I now hand over the column to our esteemed Larry Schenbeck: Dear Copper Colleagues and Readers, Frank has graciously asked if I’d like to share a word or two about my intention to stop writing Too Much Tchaikovsky. So: thanks to everyone who read and enjoyed it – I wrote it for you. If you added comments occasionally, you made my day. I also wrote the column so I could keep learning, especially about emerging creatives and performers in classical music. Getting the chance to stumble upon something new and nourishing had sustained me in the academic world – it certainly wasn’t the money! – and I was grateful to continue that in Copper. So why stop? Because, as they say, there is a season. It has become considerably harder for me to stumble upon truly fresh sounds and then write freshly thereon. Here I am tempted to quote Douglas Adams or Satchel Paige, who both knew how to deliver an exit line. But I’ll just say (since Frank has promised to leave the light on), goodbye for now. The door is open, Larry, and we can’t thank you enough for your wonderful contributions.

That's pretty much what this is, just another metal record among them. They are a rigid society that has been hidden from their inception. I liked this better than Master of the Night. Thanks to the dude who will! There are some other driving forces to this album. The frist type is the slow, doom like kind. Album Rating: 3. I'm having a hard time explaining why. When will companies learn it doesn't pay to try and cut corners. Jeff Pilson bass is very audible considering the songs have a very low end bass feel to them. Oct 05, Karen rated it liked it Shelves: paranormal , romance , fiction. Welcome back. Nothing groundbreaking, no modern classic, just another fun addition to your metal CD collection. Master of the Moon is a good album nonetheless. The main problem I have is that the story is a near complete carbon copy of Jane's Warlord , with a few things changed. Metacritic Reviews. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. I am disappointed, really disappointed…. Nick Sylvia Syms A Latent must be approved by the Magi or Majae councils. She is quick witted, even if Llyr doesn't always get her 21st cent. He puts his peoples well-being before anything else. Definitely worth checking out though it may be a little slow Also, lyrics are totally weird.

“Extinction(s)” Available as: CD, orange LP + CD, Digital Album Release Date: November 23rd , 2018 UNEARTH etched their name into the annals of hard rock history through unrelenting determination, tireless energy and a catalog of stone cold classics. Two decades into a triumphant career, the Massachusetts-bred New Wave of American Heavy Metal trailblazers are both elder statesmen and newly relevant all over again. With over a half million albums sold around the globe, UNEARTH’S astounding legacy has never been more self- evident. Festival vets and road warrior renegades, UNEARTH was a standout in a sea of worthy contenders on the final cross-country Warped Tour. Immediately upon its release in 2018, “Incinerate,” the first single from their seventh studio album, shot to Number 1 on SiriusXM Liquid Metal’s “The Devil’s Dozen” and was among the Top 100 most played songs on Amazon Music. The hunger for new music from UNEARTH was palpable and Extinction(s) delivered in spades. There could be no clearer demonstration of the band’s resilience and the unwavering passion of their worldwide fanbase - a diverse legion of heavy music acolytes who live and breathe the community, culture, and lifestyle UNEARTH represents. Extinction(s) is as much a statement of purpose as a declaration of intent, reigniting the flame of their established strengths and carving a pathway for another two decades of creative accomplishment and inspired live performances. The album is full of venom toward the wrongs of the world, fighting back against the precarious position civilization is in, determined to effect some kind of change.

As a matter of course, we will distinguish between music that is popular and a more refined notion of popular music (that is, music that manipulates reproduction and commodity culture to achieve widespread distribution). From 1960 to today in the world of popular music, there were explosions in the visibility of racial, gender, and identity issues in what we might call the politics of aesthetics. Meanwhile, technology moves from the reification (the “thing-making” element) of the LP and cassette to the intangibility (information- driven ontology) of the MP3 and streaming. We will examine the impact of developing technologies (radio, television, LP, cassette, CD, MP3, streaming services) not only in the “sound” of popular music but also in the very birth and development of our more specific notion of popular music.
