But it’s just been in the last month or so that he really started to come around and learn how to trot fast and do it right. He wears trotting hobbles but just to race. I thought that was a huge mile (at Springfield).” Willis added that the rare breaks on the gelding’s career lines were just due to youth and inexperience. “He really only made a couple breaks and it was just due to immaturity last year. He’s only made one break this year and that was Marcus’s (driver Miller’s) fault.
