On 17th of May 2016 the Slovenian Association of Landscape Architects (SALA) will organize in , The Green Capital of Europe 2016, together with the Department of Landscape Architecture, Biotechnical Faculty of the , under support of the City Municipality of Ljubljana and the Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region (RDA LUR) as the partner of the project TURAS, the international conference “Green Infrastructure – New Challenges for Urban Landscape Planning. The purpose of the Conference is to emphasize the importance of strategic and comprehensive planning of green open space and the role of green open space for the quality of the living environment and for improving the resistance of towns against the climate changes as also their role in creating the social, cultural and economic value of the urban environment. On the Conference the Slovenian and foreign experiences in the field of strategic planning will be presented as well as the views on the concepts of green infrastructure and ecosystem services that are put forward as a common approach in broader European territory. With the Conference we also wish to draw attention to the meaning and role that the landscape architecture has for the planning of durable, smart and people-friendly towns. The Conference is devoted to broader professional and interested public, especially to professional municipal services and other administrative authorities that take part in planning and management of open spaces and and in decision-making processes in the field of spatial development of Slovenian towns and other settlements. On the eve of the Conference, on 16th of May 2016 at 18:30, in Ljubljana Town Hall (Historical Atrium) the exhibition (with the same title) will be opened. In this exhibition SALA presents the examples of good practices of planning, management and maintenance of green open spaces, urban green systems and green infrastructure in , Croatia and Serbia. The exhibition is a part of already traditional cooperation of the three associations; its special part is devoted to the presentation of the solutions developed in the frame of the project TURAS. The project example of the innovative green infrastructure Green Living Room will be on tour in Ljubljana in September 2016.

Registration

The registration should be mandatory conducted with e-form Registration Form Green Infrastructure by 13 May 2016 at the latest. The registration fee is EUR 30.00;the participation in the Conference, printed Programme with Abstracts, coffee, launch and closing banquet are included. The members of SALA pay EUR 10.00, students EUR 5.00. The lecturers, organizers and invited guests are exempted from paying the registration fee. The invoices will be issued after the conclusion of the Conference.Paying the registration fee is the condition for confirming the registration.
