Libro P Partite Insights Giornata Matchday 2 Serie A TIM 2020-21 26 - 28 September 2020 26/09/2020 15:00 - OLIMPICO GRANDE TORINO TORINO Vs ATALANTA After winning 7-0 against Torino in their last meeting, Atalanta could win consecutive Serie A TIM games against the Granata for the first time since 2001 (three in a row). The 7-0 win against Torino in January 2020 is Atalanta’s biggest ever win in Serie A TIM. Atalanta have scored nine goals in their last two Serie A TIM matches against Torino - in their previous 11 league games, Dea netted only eight against Granata. The last time Torino didn’t find the net in two consecutive home matches against Atalanta in Serie A TIM was back in the 1980’s (three 0-0s in a row). Torino could lose both of their opening two matches in a Serie A TIM season for the first time since 2002/03 under Giancarlo Camolese. Atalanta could win their first match in three Serie A TIM campaigns in a row for the first time. Atalanta netted seven goals in their last two opening Serie A TIM matches to a season (4-0 v Frosinone in 2018 and 3-2 v SPAL in 2019), as many as in their previous nine. In the most recent match against Torino, Atalanta’s Josip Ilicic scored from 45 meters, the longest distance recorded for a Serie A TIM goal since Facundo Roncaglia’s goal in 2013 in Fiorentina - Napoli game (56 m). Among sides he has faced in more than two games in Serie A TIM, Atalanta are the only team against which Torino’s Andrea Belotti is yet to find the net against (11 games). Atalanta’s Luis Muriel has scored eight goals in his first match of a new season in Serie A TIM, at least two more than any other player in the last 10 league seasons. 26/09/2020 18:00 - SARDEGNA ARENA CAGLIARI Vs LAZIO Lazio are unbeaten in their last 12 Serie A TIM games against Cagliari (W10 D2): their last defeat was back in May 2013, a 1-0 win for the Rossoblù with Daniele Dessena netting the winner goal. Both teams have scored in the last five Serie A TIM matches between Cagliari and Lazio, a total of 17 goals (3.4 per match). Cagliari have lost their last two Serie A TIM home games against Lazio; they have never lost three in a row against the Biancocelesti in the top-flight. The last time Cagliari avoided defeat in both of their first two Serie A TIM games of the season was in 2011/12 - the Sardinians could also draw two in their first two top-flight games for the first time since 1981/82. When starting their season away from home, Lazio have won their last two matches (at Sampdoria in 2019 and Atalanta in 2016); they’ve never won more consecutive such matches on the road. The match played in Sardinia between Cagliari and Lazio in December 2019 was the only match in the 2019/20 Serie A TIM season in which a team overturned a deficit and won a match via two goals in the 90th minute (93’ Luis Alberto and 98' Caicedo). Cagliari striker Giovanni Simeone could find the net in each of his first two Serie A TIM games of a season for the first time in his career - the Argentine has scored three goals against Lazio; only against Torino has he found the net more times in Serie A TIM (4). Lazio striker Ciro Immobile has scored eight goals in 10 Serie A TIM matches against Cagliari, including the first of 135 goals in the Italian top-flight (in August 2012 with Genoa). Ciro Immobile has scored six goals in his last seven Serie A TIM matches in his first appearance that season, including a brace in the first game of last season against Sampdoria. 26/09/2020 18:00 - LUIGI FERRARIS SAMPDORIA Vs BENEVENTO In the two previous Serie A TIM meetings between Sampdoria and Benevento (in 2017/18), both sides found the net with the home side winning on both occasions. Sampdoria have conceded goals in each of their last 10 Serie A TIM games against newly promoted sides, after keeping a clean sheet in five of their previous seven. After three consecutive wins, Sampdoria have lost four of their last five league games (D1), conceding 2.4 goals on average per match. Sampdoria have lost their last two home games in the Italian top-flight, last losing three home games in a row in Serie A TIM in September 2013. Benevento lost their only previous opening match in a Serie A TIM season, also against Sampdoria, at Ferraris in 2017. In their only previous season in the Italian top-flight (2017/18) Benevento lost 29 games, the most defeats by a team in a single Serie A TIM season. Sampdoria striker Fabio Quagliarella could find the net in his 16th consecutive Serie A TIM season: only three players have achieved this feat in the 21st century: Roberto Baggio (18), Alberto Gilardino (17) and Francesco Totti (23 – the most ever). Sampdoria’s Fabio Quagliarella has scored 17 goals in his last 20 Serie A TIM games against newly-promoted sides, including a brace in August 2017 against Benevento. Gianluca Caprari played 73 Serie A TIM games with Sampdoria, between 2017 and 2020, scoring 14 goals. The Benevento striker scored his first goal in the Italian top-flight against the Blucerchiati in September 2012 with Pescara. 26/09/2020 20:45 - GIUSEPPE MEAZZA INTER Vs FIORENTINA Inter are unbeaten in their last six Serie A TIM matches against Fiorentina (W2 D4) – their last defeat against the Viola was back in April 2017 (4-5 at Franchi stadium). Last season, Inter only failed to beat Fiorentina (D2), Juventus and Roma in Serie A TIM. Fiorentina could keep two clean sheets in a row on the road against Inter in Serie A TIM for the first time since 1941 (0-0 in the most recent match at Meazza stadium). Antonio Conte could become Inter’s first manager to win their opening game in consecutive Serie A TIM seasons since Roberto Mancini (2005/06 and 2006/07). Fiorentina last won four Serie A TIM matches in a row back in April 2018 – currently on a streak of three consecutive wins. Inter scored 113 goals in all competitions in 2019-20 – their highest scoring campaign in all competitions since Serie A TIM began in 1929-30. Inter netted the most headed goals (26) last season across the Top-5 European League clubs in all competitions. Inter’s Romelu Lukaku has scored three goals in his last three MD1 fixtures in Serie A TIM and the Premier League – the Belgium striker netted 35% of his total goals at home in the league last season (8/23). No other player has scored more goals than Arturo Vidal under Antonio Conte in the Top-5 European Leagues: 28 goals, alongside Eden Hazard. Fiorentina’s Giacomo Bonaventura scored four goals against Inter in Serie A TIM – including a brace at Meazza stadium with Atalanta in March 2014 – only against Napoli (five) he netted more in the Italian top-flight. 27/09/2020 12:30 - OROGEL STADIUM - DINO MANUZZI SPEZIA Vs SASSUOLO Sassuolo have won each of their four previous Serie B and Coppa Italia games against Spezia, by an aggregate scoreline of of 8-2. Sassuolo haven’t won an away Serie A TIM game in Liguria since December 2017 (1-0 v Sampdoria) – three draws and two losses since then. Sassuolo are unbeaten in their last eight Serie A TIM games against newly promoted teams (W4, D4) – their last defeat was back in February 2019, 0-3 away at Empoli. Spezia are the 68th different side to appear in Serie A TIM: excluding the sides in the historic first season (1929/30), only six teams have managed to win their first ever game in the Italian top-flight (Legnano 1930, Sampierdanese 1934, Salernitana 1947, Como 1949, Empoli 1986, Chievo 2001). Sassuolo drew their opening match against Cagliari; the Neroverdi have gone unbeaten in their opening two games of a Serie A TIM season only twice in their eight campaigns in the division (2015/16 and 2018/19), but have never drawn their opening two games. Sassuolo have conceded goals in each of their last eight away league games. They last had a longer such run in the competition in 2017 (10). Both Cristian Dell'Orco and Riccardo Marchizza moved from Sassuolo to Spezia, this summer; Dell'Orco has made 20 Serie A TIM appearances (with the Neroverdi), whilst Marchizza is yet to make his top-flight debut. Sassuolo striker Francesco Caputo has scored six goals in his last seven matches against newly promoted teams in Serie A TIM – since football restarted last season in June, he has been involved in 11 league goals (eight goals and three assists), no player has been involved in more goals in the division during this period. 27/09/2020 15:00 - MARC'ANTONIO BENTEGODI HELLAS VERONA Vs UDINESE Hellas Verona haven’t scored a single goal in their last five Serie A TIM games against Udinese: the last side that failed to score in six consecutive top-flight matches against a specific opponent was Udinese against Lazio between 2015 and 2018. Hellas Verona’s last goal against Udinese in Serie A TIM was scored by Giampaolo Pazzini in October 2015, whilst their last victory against them in the Italian top-flight came back in December 2014 (a 2-1 win).

NETHERLANDS v ITALY MATCH PRESS KIT Municipal, Aveiro Monday, 29 May 2006 - 19:45 local time Final tournament - Group phase Group B - Matchday 6 For two countries with rich heritage at all levels, it is perhaps surprising that when the Netherlands and Italy come face to face in the third and final round of Group B matches at the UEFA European Under-21 Championship, it will be their first competitive meeting. Italy sit top of the group with four points thanks to Giorgio Chiellini's added-time winner against Ukraine which followed their similarly dramatic 3-3 draw with Denmark. The Netherlands are still looking for their first victory after losing to Ukraine then drawing with Denmark, and must win to advance. • The countries have rarely come into opposition at youth level either, although when they have crossed paths it has invariably been a close contest. At the 2005 European U17 Championship hosts Italy won through to a semi-final against the Dutch but home advantage proved irrelevant on this occasion with Melvin Zaalman getting the only goal for the Netherlands in extra time. Italy had had the better of their four meetings at U16 level with three victories including a 6-1 triumph in the 1990 qualifying round and edged out the Dutch on penalties to reach the U18 finals in 1998/99, when they went on to the final before losing to Portugal. • At senior level perhaps their most significant meeting was in the semi-finals of UEFA EURO 2000™ when, on home soil, the Dutch missed two penalties in normal time against ten-man Italy with Frank de Boer and Patrick Kluivert both failing from the spot.

Coaches FC Barcelona v Manchester United FC: Josep Guardiola v Sir Alex Ferguson for the second time in three seasons. Prior to kick-off at Wembley, ‘Pep’ greets the coach he admires most in a meeting between two coaches with exceptionally high averages in the UEFA Champions League. All-time leader Sir Alex was bringing his total to 176 games in 16 seasons, yet even he was falling marginally short of Pep’s tally of 38 matches in only three campaigns.
