The dominant trait of the Socio-Economic approach to prices is to understand price formation not as the outcome of individual preferences but as the result of the social and political forces operating within the market field. The article proceeds from the concept of market fields and is organized around the three dominant approaches in economic sociology: the network approach, the institutional approach, and the cultural approach. ©KY PUBLICATIONS INTRODUCTION Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is native to Asia and India. The tuberous rhizomes or underground stems of turmeric have been used from antiquity as condiments, a dye and as an aromatic stimulant in several medicines. Turmeric is very important spice in India, which produces nearly entire whole world’s crop and consumes 80% of it.

VISHNU VARDHANA RAO.V ©KY PUBLICATIONS RESEARCH ARTICLE Vol.3.Issue.3.2016 July-Sept. http://www.ijbmas.in INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF BUSINESS, MANAGEMENT AND ALLIED SCIENCES (IJBMAS) A Peer Reviewed International Research Journal MARKETING OF TURMERIC-AN EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS ON PROBLEM AND PERSPECTIVES IN GUNTUR REGION VISHNU VARDHANA RAO.V Lecturer Department of Commerce SVRM College (Autonomous),Nagaram, Guntur, A.P., India ABSTRACT Indian Turmeric is considered best in the world. In this article, an attempt is made to study the various problems faced by the growers to market their produce through Regulated Markets. The present study has also outlined the status of Turmeric markets in Guntur region of Andhra Pradesh, India. A statistical analysis of the data on price discovery in a sample of Four major markets in the revealed that the Turmeric market in those areas are not efficient in the sense that the futures prices are not an unbiased predictor of the future ready rates. The difference between the market to market, season to season prices is an indication of inefficiency arising from the underdeveloped nature of the market. The statistical tool chi-square test has been applied to find out the important factors influencing the supply of turmeric by the selected sample respondents to the various intermediaries, which is an important marketing practice performed in the market centre and the prospects of turmeric growers have been analysed on the basis of facilities offered by the intermediaries. All the major problems were ranked according to the scores and put into further analysis. ©KY Publications INTRODUCTION Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is native to Asia and India.

  • Analysis of Corrosion Rates of Mild Steel, Copper and Aluminium in Underground Water Samples of Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh, India
International Journal of Advance Research In Science And Engineering http://www.ijarse.com IJARSE, Vol. No.3, Issue No.12, December 2014 ISSN-2319-8354(E) ANALYSIS OF CORROSION RATES OF MILD STEEL, COPPER AND ALUMINIUM IN UNDERGROUND WATER SAMPLES OF KRISHNA DISTRICT, ANDHRA PRADESH, INDIA V. Rajesh1, C. L. Monica2, D. Sarada Kalyani3, S. Srinivasa Rao4 1,2,3,4 Department of Chemistry, V. R. Siddhartha Engineering College (Autonomous), Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, (India) ABSTRACT A few underground water samples are collected from various mandals located adjacent to Krishna river in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, India. The quality parameters of water samples are determined using volumetric and instrumental methods. The parameters determined include chloride content, hardness, alkalinity, dissolved oxygen, total dissolved solids, total suspended solids, pH and conductivity. Corrosion rates of commercially important metals viz., mild steel, copper and aluminium are determined in all the collected water samples using conventional gravimetric measurements. An attempt is made to correlate the water quality parameters with the corrosion rates of metals. A clear correlation was observed in case of majority of water samples with reference to certain parameters like pH, conductivity and chlorides which have a direct impact on corrosion rate of a metal. Keywords: Commercial Metals, Corrosion Tendencies, Krishna District, Underground Water Samples, Water Quality Parameters I. INTRODUCTION Metals like carbon steel, copper, aluminium, etc. are commercially much significant due to their use in various engineering and construction fields due to their better mechanical, physical and chemical properties. However, these metals exhibit high susceptibility to corrosion in environments in which they are expected to work.

As agriculture gets affected so the productivity. Hence thereof researches, experiments and finding alternative solutions are required. Sometimes we need to change the usual practice in order to meet the demand and to cope with the changed environment. Here the case GEOGRAPHICAL STUDY OF study describes... IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON AGRICULTURAL PROF. A. V. SHASHIKALA M. A., M. Phil, PhD. PRODUCTIVITY DEPARTMENT OF GEOGRAPHY OSMANIA UNIVERSITY A Case Study of Andhra Pradesh HYDERABAD. PREFACE Climates have changed in the past and will continue to change over in the future.Along with crustal evolution of the earth surface, climatic changes were bound to be evidenced due to cumulative impact of terrestrial and extra-terrestrial forces.Eustatic and isostatic impacts of such changes were always felt on the vast geo processes and subsequently on the land use systems. However, in the present anthropogene period particularly in the last few decades the global climatic changes due to human centric activities has become an issue of concern, because of its impact on intensity of temperature and rainfall variations, sea level changes, frequency increase in extreme climatic events like floods and droughts. All these would definitely have a long-lasting impact on human livelihoods and food security.
