The players listed below have not attended a Discipline Committee Hearing for red cards received during a game and are ineligible to play in any sanction game until they have appeared before the Discipline Committee.

f Meraloma Rugby Club was ejected from the June 8, 2013 United Midnight 7’s game against Surrey was for punching by referee Rod Watkins.

Pita Bainivalu registered with Bayside Athletic Association playing for the Fiji Wings in tournament was ejected from the May 18, 2013 Cloverdale Rodeo 7’s game against Surrey for foul play by referee Neil Grant. Suspension: Two games (please refer to the Discpline policy section 21.4 regarding the definition of a game for discipline purposes) Probation: 12 months.

Requests for non-league games to be counted towards suspensions: Barry Bonnell of Burnaby Lake RFC requested that the Cloverdale Rodeo 7’s and the United Midnight 7’s be counted towards his current suspension. The Discipline Committee does not grant this request but will count the first two games in the BC Rugby 7’s series towards his suspension—specifically the Vancouver 7’s (June 22) and the BLRC Lighthouse 7’s (July 27). Mr Bonnell would be eligible to play again for the Abbotsford 7’s (Aug 3). Ryan Shams of Richmond RFC requested that the Vancouver 7’s be counted towards his current suspension. The Discipline Committee granted this request.

Cameron Knowles of Richmond RFC was ejected from the April 27, 2013 Okanagan Springs First Division game against UBC RFC by Referee Tyler Dawson for 10.4(a) 10.4(l) Striking. Suspension: 4 games (2 games for offense, double as player was still on probation) Probation: 24 months

Geoff Girling, (reported as Jeff Giron) Richmond RFC was ejected from the April 27, 2013 Okanagan Springs First Division game against UBC RFC by Referee Tyler Dawson for a dangerous tackle. Suspension: 1 game (2 games for offense less one for mitigating circumstances) Probation: 12 months

Ryan Shams of Richmond RFC was ejected from the April 27, 2013 Okanagan Springs First Division game against UBC RFC by Referee Tyler Dawson for abusive behaviour. Suspension: 4 games—1 game to be served immediately then 3 games to be served commencing Oct 15, 2013 unless Mr. Shams provides the Discipline Committee with proof that he has satisfactorily completed a referee course. Probation: 24 months

Liam Hunter of Vancouver Rowing Club was ejected from the the April 27, 2013 Okanagan Springs First Division game against United Rugby Club by Referee Scott Johnson for foul play (two yellows in the same game both for punching). Suspension: 2 games Probation: 24 months

Tom Wigglesworth of Merritt Barbarians was ejected from the April 27, 2013 ORU game against Kelowna Crows by referee Bob Zyrd for contravening law 10.4 dangerous play, misconduct and punching. Indefinite suspension pending the player’s appearance before the Discipline Committee

Morgan Williams of JBAA was ejected from the April 6, 2013 CDI Premier Division league game UBCOB Raven RFC was for receiving 2 yellow cards in the same game by referee Michael Jones. Suspension: 1 game (already served) Probation: 12 months

Doug Middleton of Castaway Wanderers was ejected from the April 6, 2013 CDI Premier league game against Bayside for contravening law 10.4(k) and 10.4(m) by referee David Smortchevsky. Suspension: 2 games (1 game already served) Probation: 12 months

Jonathon Fry of Bayside was ejected from the April 6, 2013 CDI Premier league game against Castaway Wanderers RFC for contravening law 10.4(k) and 10.4(m) by referee David Smortchevsky. Suspension: 2 games (1 game already served) Probation: 12 months

S Powell of CW was ejected from the March 23, 2013 CDI Premier Division league game against Capilano RFC for a dangerous play by referee Drew Sagar based on information from AR Scott Johnson. Suspension: 2 games Probation: 12 months

Thomas Elliott of Seattle player from March 16, 2013 Okanagan Springs Division 1 game against Vancouver Rowing Club for dangerous Tackle. Suspension: 4 games (2 games for offence doubled as on probation) NOTE: 2 games already served Probation: 24 months

Rys Cunnin of JBAA was ejected from the March 23, 2013 Ceili First Division league game against Burnaby Lake RFC for a dangerous tackle by referee Jivan Dhaliwal. Suspension: 1 game (2 games for offence less one for mitigating circumstances) Probation: 12 months

Andrew Baker of Kats RFC (originally identified just as #15 who was listed as Ross MacDonald from game day roster but actually #15 jersey worn was Andrew Baker) waiting Red card reports for stomping. Suspension: 2 games Probation: 12 months

Nathan Rees of Capilano RFC, reported to have 3 yellow cards in the same season. NO Sanctions. It was determined that Mr. Rees was given one yellow card for another player’s offense. Mr. Rees’ yellow card count is adjusted to 2 yellow cards received for the season. The yellow card has been assigned to the correct player as per the video evidence.

Isimaeli Sigarua of Bayside received two yellow cards during the March 16, 2013 CDI Premier game against Capilano RFC by referee Patrick Allard and is require to appear before the BC Rugby Discipline Committee. One yellow card was issued for punching while in a tackle and the 2nd one was for a late, dangerous tackle (no wrap). Suspension: 1 game Probation: 12 months

Penioni Drikibau of Richmond, was ejected from the March 02, 2013 Okanagan Spring First game against Surrey Beavers by referee Scott Johnson for foul play. Suspension: 1 game (2 games less one for mitigating circumstances) Probation: 24 months

Ed Adams of JBAA was ejected from the March 02, 2013 Ceili Cup League game against Capilano RFC by referee Dan Beattie for a dangerous tackle. Suspension: 2 games Probation: 12 months

Garrett Garbe of the UBCOB Ravens was ejected from the November 18, 2012 U17 game against Vancouver Rowing club for dissent/verbal abuse by referee Jonathan Mergui in addition to a report of referee abuse from Nia Parsonage from the U19 game November 10, 2012 Suspension: Mr Garbe remains suspended from coaching activities until he has completed a Level 1 Official Certification Course and has refereed three games at the 3rd Division level under the supervision and to be verified by David Pue, president of the VFVRRS.

Jeke Gotegote of Burnaby Lake Rugby Club was ejected from the November 3, 2012 CDI Premier League game against Bayside by referee Sherry Trumbull for contravening law 10.4(e), 10.4(a) and 10.4(l) high tackle, retaliation and punching. Suspension: 2 games (BCRU DC allows the Feb. 2, 2013 McKechnie Cup game to count towards this suspension) Probation: 24 months

Kim Anderton of Cowichan was cited for punching during the December 1, 2012 Cowichan Cup game against the Velox Academy team. Suspension: 3 games (4 games for the offence less one game for mitigating circumstances) Probation: 24 months

Vishal Kumar of the Burnaby Lake Rugby Club was ejected from the November 10, 2012 Lower Mainland U19 League game against Langley RFC by referee Colin Sexton for contravening law 10.4 (a). Suspension: 2 games (one served to date) Probation: 12 months

Titus Le of the Burnaby Lake Rugby Club was ejected from the November 10, , 2012 Lower Mainland U19 League game against Langley RFC by referee Colin Sexton for contravening law 10.4 (b). Suspension: 1 game (2 games for offense less one for mitigating circumstances) game served Probation: 12 months

Sana Dawai of the Velox Valhallians, cited for foul play during the November 10, 2012 VIRU First Division Game against Castaway Wanderers. Suspension: 4 games Probation: 24 months Velox Valhallians appealed the decision regarding this citing. The Appeal Committee upheld the Discipline Committee's decision. Fred Wynne of the Kats RFC ejected from the November 17, 2012 3rd division game against Scribes RFC by referee Scott Johnson for foul play. Suspension: Time served Probation: 12 months

Garrett Garbe of the UBCOB Ravens was ejected from the November 18, 2012 U17 game against Vancouver Rowing club for dissent/verbal abuse by referee Jonathan Mergui in addition to a report of referee abuse from Nia Parsonage from the U19 game November 10, 2012 The Discipline Committee determined that further investigation into the received reports is required. Suspended from coaching activities until further notice.

Michael Hitchborn of the Capilano Rugby Club was ejected from the October 27, 2012 Division 1 Ceili’s Cup league game against Castaway Wanderers by referee John Buxcey for contravening law 10.4 (j). Neither Mr. Hitchborn nor his representative appear at the hearing. Suspended from play until he appears before the Discipline Committee.

The Discipline Committee held an investigation hearing into this matter. After weighing the evidence, the DC concluded that Ms Noger of the Abbotsford definitely sustained an injury, however the facts gathered regarding this incident were inconclusive regarding intent and without video evidence to collaborate either side it is not possible to determine that Ms Peterson’s actions were deliberate. On May 5, 2010 the BC Rugby Discipline Committee held a hearing into the citings of Bayside RFC players by Meraloma Rugby Club arising from two separate incidents during the Premier Game played between the two club on April 17, 2010 at Connaught Park.

Tony LaCarte of Bayside RFC was cited for kicking an opponent. After viewing video footage of the incident from both the Meraloma Rugby Club and Bayside RFC it was decided that the incident occurred while the player was attempting to kick the ball during open play. Mr LaCarte's actions are not considered to have been a deliberate attempt to injure, reckless or dangerous. The consequential injury was characterized as an unfortunate accident. NO Sanctions.

The Discipline Committee considered the report of referee abuse relative to the behaviour of a Nanaimo supporter following the April 25th Abbotsford vs Nanaimo Province Wide 1st Division playoff game. The DC determined that the Nanaimo supporter was verbally abusive and that he intentionally threw a firecracker that exploded inches from the referee. Nanaimo Hornets RFC has barred the individual in question from the Nanaimo premises for the balance of 2009, after which time he may request of the club that he be re-admitted. Nanaimo is sending a letter of apology to the referee. The DC commends Nanaimo Hornets RFC's executive for their response to this incident. Probation: Nanaimo Hornets RFC is placed on 12 months probation and is required to post a $500 refundable bond for that period of time.

Langley Rugby Club and Kelowna Rugby Club were required to attend the Discipline Committee meeting regarding the reported "team brawling" resulting from the above McRoberts incident (Nov.1, 2008). Sanction: Both the Langley Rugby Club and Kelowna Rugby Club are reprimanded and placed on 12 months probation.

The Discipline Committee reminds clubs and players of the need to maintain discipline on the pitch and to refrain from behaviour which brings the game into disrepute. Cass Conkin of Bayside RFC played while under suspension on November 1, 2008 in the Spray Elite division game against Vancouver Rowing Club. The Discipline Committee determined that Mr. Conkin played while under suspension as a result of incorrect information given to him by a member of Bayside RFC's executive. Mr. Conkin will serve the one game remaining on his suspension. Sanction: Bayside RFC is fined $500 and is placed on 12 months probation.

Gord McGeachy of the NVIRU Tsunami was the subject of a Verbal Abuse Report relative to an incident that occurred at the June 12, 2008 Tsunami U-16 vs. St. Gerard's exhibition game. The Discipline Committee accepted the recommendation of the Investigation Committee into this matter. Mr. McGeachy is to write a letter to the referee and the VIRRS regretting his role in the matter.
