Tytherington Eco Tie

As part of Tytherington School’s promise to ‘Go Green’ we are trying to do our bit to help reduce the global issue of plastic bottles in our seas and landfill. Plastic takes over 1,000 years to degrade and the particles pollute the ground and get into our food chain. To help reduce the amount of plastic in our environment we have sourced a supplier to produce our school ties from recycled bottles. We think that rescuing plastic bottles from the landfill is a much better idea than the traditional way of using crude oil to make the yarn. By making our Eco ties from recycled polyester yarn we can: g Save 2 plastic bottles from landfill for every Eco Tie g Avoid using crude oil unnecessarily g Promote sustainability within the school g Support British manufacture The final decision on the appropriateness of uniform lies with the Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher Eco Ties are available from the School Finance Office at £6.50 each Unsuitable Footwear Tytherington Eco Blazer The following are examples of shoes, trainers and brands which are NOT allowed to be worn at school: In line with our eco policy this year we are introducing eco blazers into our school uniform. Following the installation of water fountains around the school and in line with our environmentally friendly policy we are delighted to introduce a brand new Eco-friendly, Tytherington School reusable water bottle. It is specially designed to look after both our students and our planet. This will be an important part of the uniform requirement from September this year.
