Coppin State, Delaware State, Howard and Morgan State will make up the North- ern Division, with Norfolk State, North Carolina A&T State, North Carolina Central and South Carolina State comprising the Southern Division for the spring campaign. THE SEASON THAT WAS • The 2019 MEAC volleyball regular season saw Howard and North Carolina A&T State win their respective divisions, each team only losing one match in league play, before the MEAC Volleyball Cham- pionship took place on Howard’s campus. Morgan State’s Zoe Mc- Bride and North Carolina A&T State’s Edie Brewer were named MEAC Co-Players of the Year. The Bison outlasted Morgan State in a five-set thriller in the championship match. GAMES LAST WEEK 2020 MEAC VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP • The 2020 MEAC Volleyball Championship will take place on the campus of Norfolk State University the weekend of April 2-3, Fri- day-Saturday. The top two teams in each division will qualify for the tournament, which will see its field cut from eight teams to four because of issues surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Saturday’s championship match will likely once again be broadcast live on one of ESPN’s family of networks (exact network and match time are still dubject to determination), with the winner earning the MEAC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Volleyball Championships. QB Ryan Stanley Eyes FAMU Career Passing Mark FloridaFlorida A&MA&M University’sUniversity’s RattlerRattler FootballFootball PreviewPreview 20192019 FLORIDA A&M UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL 2019 PAGE 1 2019’s Lead Story Ryan Stanley Chasing FAMU’s Greats FAMU senior quarterback Ryan Stanley has two main goals in mind in 2019: (1) to lead FAMU to back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in nearly a decade; (2) to make a run at FAMU’s all-time career pass- ing record. The Pembroke Pines native became the fifth player in FAMU Football history to pass for over 6,000 yards in 2018. A two-time All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Con- ference selection, Stanley needs 1,308 yards to move past Quinn Gray, who passed for 7,378 yards during the height of the Gulf Coast Offensive Era from 1998 to 2001.
