Cuvée Silex

The hills located in the eastern part of the Sancerre Appellation (overlooking the river) have a terroir made of clay-siliceous soils composed of flint (silex), clay, and siliceous conglomerates. This rare terroir (20% of the Sancerre Appellation) gives a unique style to this and is therefore the most sought-after. The flint has the capacity to capture and reflect the heat from the sun (so the grapes ripen earlier) and transmits to the its distinguished acidity. Thanks to rigorous work and constant attention,J. de Villebois captures the magical association of the flint terroir and the Sauvignon Blanc grape.
