Conference Tournament Bracket

1. First round CCAC tournament games to be played on Tuesday, semifinals on Thursday and the conference tournament championship on Saturday.

Tie-Breakers

TWO-TEAM TIE

Two teams are considered to be tied when owning an identical conference record.

The following procedures (1-4), in the following order, will be used to break a tie between two teams:

1. Results of head-to-head competition in regular-season conference games between the two teams.

2. Results of each team's record versus the team occupying the highest position in the final CCAC regular season standings continuing down through the standings until one team gains an advantage.

a. When arriving at another pair of tied teams while comparing records, use each team's record against the collective tied teams as a group (prior to their own tie-breaking procedures) rather than the performance against the individual tied teams.

Exception: When arriving at another pair of tied teams, if the tiebreaker between those teams has already been broken earlier in the seeding process, which goes from top to bottom, the record against the highest seed is employed first.

b. When comparing records against a single team or a group of teams, the higher winning percentage shall prevail, even if the number of games played against the team or group is unequal (i.e., 2-0 is better than 3-1). In the case of tied percentages versus the team or group (i.e. 1.000 or .000), the following shall apply: 2-0 is better than 1-0; 0- 1 is better than 0-2.

3. Winning percentage versus all common non-CCAC NAIA opponents.

THREE-OR-MORE TEAM TIE

Teams are considered to be tied when owning an identical conference record.

Following the breaking of a tie of three-or-more teams, once the tie is broken the tiebreaking procedure listed for either a two- or three-or more team tie starts over with the procedure used based on the tied teams remaining after the initial multi-team tie is broken.

The following procedures, in the following order, will be used to break ties between three-or-more teams:

1. Results of head-to-head competition (based on winning percentage) in regular-season conference games among tied teams.

a. When comparing records, the higher winning percentage shall prevail, even if the number of games played against the team or group are unequal (i.e., 2-0 is better than 3-1). In the case of tied percentages versus the team or group (i.e. 1.000 or .000), the following shall apply: 2-0 is better than 1-0; 0-1 is better than 0-2.

2. If two-or-more teams are still tied, then each tied team's record shall be compared to the team occupying the highest position in the final regular-season standings continuing down through the standings until one team gains an advantage.

Section 1: Playing Rules

1. The host of each league regular-season match will follow ITA and NAIA guidelines for rules of play and game management responsibilities. Host coaches and game site administrators, if available, should use their best effort to monitor and control spectators and match participants during contests to protect the integrity of the game, specifically regarding line calls and rules interpretations.

2. Regular-season matches can not be protested. The conference does not have the ability to interpret ITA rules. If an issue arises, the expectation is that the two head coaches of the competing schools solve the issue on site. Any school that hosts regular-season matches can hire an on-site ITA official and that officials’ decisions are final.

3. During league regular-season contests, all matches will be played to conclusion even after a team winner has been determined. If the match has been decided, the two head coaches may agree for matches that go to a third set to be decided by a 10-point tiebreaker.

4. Effective with the 2019-20 year, the NAIA will follow the NCAA scoring rules.

 Three doubles matches followed by six singles matches  Seven team points. One point for winning 2 of 3 doubles matches and one point for each singles match won  After the doubles point has been decided, any remaining matches are abandoned  No-Ad scoring for both doubles and singles matches (at 40-40, next point wins)  Once the outcome of the team match has been decided, coaches can agree to continue playing out any remaining matches

Scheduling

1. The CCAC regular-season schedule will be established by the conference commissioner and distributed to each competing institution as soon as possible prior to the season of competition. Each competing institution will play the other league competing institutions once. The sites for these matches will rotate on an annual basis.

3. Should such facility not be available, the host institution shall notify the visiting coach as soon as possible of the cancellation.

4. Should a match be cancelled, the two head coaches will work together on a date to make up the match.

5. League matches will take precedent over all scheduled non-conference matches.

6. Should a resolution on a date not be agreed upon by the two coaches, the Tennis Liaison from the Executive Committee will make the final determination on the date the match will be played.

7. All league matches will be played prior to the start of the postseason conference tournament.

Section 4: Post Season Format

Selection of CCAC Regular Season Winner

The CCAC regular season champion will be determined by the institution that finishes with the highest winning percentage in league games. In the event of a tie, the following protocol will be followed:

 Should two teams be tied in the league standings at the conclusion of the regular season, the result of their head-to-head match will be used to break the tie  Should three or more teams be tied, the following standards will be used, in descending order, to seed the conference tournament:

1. Combined individual match scores amongst the teams involved in the tie

a. The teams will be seeded in descending order based on number of individual wins in matches against the teams tied with the greatest total of wins being the highest seed of the teams tied
