Some ideas of objects include: sticks, pebbles, pieces of bark or dry pasta. Maybe you could use the items you found on your Discovery Walk this morning? Use your collection of items to practise division, making sure it's a ‘fair share’. Eg, Share 12 items into 4 equal groups, 12÷4=? Share 15 items into 5 equal groups, 15÷5=? Complete the worksheet (Appendix 3) as you progress through this experiment. 3. Decide what materials you have access to that will enable you to replicate this experiment. In the first half of the video, they tested how weight affects the distance the skateboard travels. They later increased the height at which the skateboard was released up the ramp but did not add any weight. 4. Before you design your experiment, decide what you are going to test and only test that variable.Variables you could test could include: The height released up the ramp, the weight of the object released or the inclination (steepness) of the ramp. Remember to be safe and conduct your experiments in the presence of an adult. Whilst you are conducting the experiment, consider the following questions: Can you come up with any design flaws in the experiment that was conducted in the skatepark?
