The village of Thorpe Salvin each year enters the ‘Britain in Bloom’ competition, which is usually the last weekend in July. It is really picturesque and all the village residents have a village trail where you can visit their gardens, which are full of flowers. Thorpe Salvin also has genuine historical interest with the ruins of Thorpe Hall, a magnificent Elizabethan Manor House, and a spectacular Norman church St. Peters. An interesting visit to see the village. z Facilities – Gardens in Bloom in summer time – Thorpe Hall ruins – Norman Church – Recreation ground – Public House ‘Parish Oven’. There is a charge for the ‘Village Trail’ but car parking is free in the recreation grounds – otherwise on a normal visit you will have to park on the village lanes. z Café – On the weekend of the Village Trail there will be snacks available - also there is the Parish Oven public house, which has a restaurant, bar meals, and children’s play area

z Toilets – On the weekend of the village trail toilets are available and there is the village public house. z Path – This is a walk which is on roads / lanes in the village. There are a few pavements and at times you will have to use the village lanes, which are all fairly, flat and of a tarmac and asphalt surface - it is suitable for all wheelchairs and manual wheelchairs,

If you are coming from on the A57 look for a turn off at South Anston to Kiveton Park station and at the station turn left then look for the sign that takes you to Thorpe Salvin – it is also 3 miles from Worksop.
