A) Bird life. I have personally observed 56 species at the proposed development site during 2017- 2021 including all the most threatened species as listed below. Red list: species of the highest conservation priority Grey Partridge Perdix perdix Lapwing Vanellus vanellus Herring Gull Larus argentatus Skylark Alauda arvensis Starling Sturnus vulgaris Fieldfare Turdus pilaris Redwing Turdus iliacus Mistle Thrush Turdus viscivorus Song Thrush Turdus philomelos House Sparrow Passer domesticus Tree Sparrow Passer montanus Yellow Wagtail Motacilla flava Corn Bunting Miliaria calandra Amber List: the next most critical category Mallard Anas platyrhynchos Oystercatcher Haematopus ostralegus Snipe Gallinago gallinago Black-headed Gull Chroicocephalus ridibundus Common Gull Larus canus Lesser Black-backed Gull Larus fuscus Stock Dove Columba oenas Kestrel Falco tinnunculus Dunnock Prunella modularis Meadow Pipit Anthus pratensis Reed Bunting Emberiza schoeniclus [Reference: Birds of Conservation Concern 4: the Red List for Birds,2015, British Trust for Ornithology]. Peel L&P's suggested 'Green Infrastructure Mitigation Plan' proposes tree planting and woodland extension but this would do nothing to mitigate the loss of 42 hectares of agricultural land and is irrelevant to the mainly farmland bird species listed above which would be annihilated by the structures planned. B) The area is designated Green Belt to prevent urban sprawl. The reasons for this designation remain as strong as ever. There are no special circumstances which should permit this area to be destroyed. 2 C) The proposed development would be visually ugly and inappropriate, eliminating a valued area of open green space. D) The proposal demonstrates urban encroachment onto prime agricultural land and would have a negative effect on UK food production. E) The proposed new road junctions will result in more traffic congestion. F) The proposed development demonstrates short-term thinking. Future generations will look back in anger and amazement that we were still proposing the destruction of agricultural land on this scale in 2021.

The green space we have around us is so precious, providing a amazing varied habitat for both birds and mammals. Only a few weeks ago I was lucky enough to see wild dear roaming in the exact fields upon which you intend to build. We need to protect our land, plant more trees and do what we can to reduce our impact on climate change. There has been so much building of both houses and warehouses along our stretch of the A580 in recent years and still the houses and traffic increases. We have to say no to preserve what we have for our children and future generations. Your sincerel

Comments I am completely against this application going ahead. It will take our beautiful walks and woods away from. We have little safe space for our two boys to play and for us to safely let our dog off his lead. Without this green space my mental health would have been severely affected by the pandemic. It is no overstatement to to say that having this beautiful area to go to has saved us. We already have so much warehousing and logistics, the development at Florida farm further up the east Lancs still isn’t full and has not produced the income or jobs for local people that was promised by St. Helens council and the developers. Add to that the fact that this would add at least 20 minutes each way on my daily commute meaning I spend an extra 3 hours in traffic than I do currently. This development would have a detrimental effect on the area of Golborne and should not go ahead 8

omments Your amendments fail to address the main issues, raised at the Council Planning Committee meeting i.e. the scale and inappropriate location of your proposal. Simply, tinkering with some landscape matter, completely ignores the vast majority of concerns raised at the meeting! 10

There has in the last 2-3 years already been built 3 very large warehouses on Green Belt land in Haydock and this proposal will take more green belt currently used for agriculture. Haydock Island junction 23 of the M6 and where the A580 and A49 meet is already a heavily congested pinch point and the proposal even with road changes would mean more traffic makes this area considerably worse. Another warehouse in this area will also increase the flow of traffic along the A580 which has already had an increase from the Amazon and Kellogg warehouses which have been built on green belt land 2 miles from the proposed new development. Yours faithfull

Comments Haydock does not need this. The m6 major development has already had a detrimental affect on the residents of haydock with lorries parking overlooking their properties and blocking roads. Not to mention the noise pollution. It will also no doubt have an affect on house prices and those who may wish to leave the area. Do not go ahead with this, please. 13

Comments I do not agree with the chosen location of the proposed plans. The junctions at haydock island are already heavily congested at peak times, making commutes to work longer and longer. Especially for access to the M6. The proposed plans would put this area under even more extreme pressure at busy times. This area seems to have less and less green spaces and fields, due to the amount of building developments. More and more huge factories and warehouses, and housing developments, without any updates to local roads and infrastructure. This development would mean more HGVs, more fumes, Higher co2 emissions, less trees and green spaces, and I want to object to that. Haydock and golborne has already been developed enough. This location is also right on the boundary of local woodland and fisheries, and would have a detrimental affect on the sliver of habitat that our local wildlife has left. I do not support the application for the proposed plan. 15
