Spacious Victorian Rectory in 3.458 Acres (Est) SPACIOUS VICTORIAN RECTORY IN 3.458 ACRES (EST) THE OLD RECTORY, QUIDENHAM, NORFOLK The Property The Old Rectory is a spacious, comfortable family home situated within its own gardens and grounds in the rural hamlet of Quidenham. The property is believed to date back to 1870, with later 20th century additions and alterations, and is of solid brick construction under a tiled roof. The current owners purchased the property in 1994 and then spent a year carrying out various improvements including re-roofing, and moved in during 1995. Situation The rural hamlet of Quidenham has a selection of largely period houses and is well placed for the A11. There is a train station at Eccles Road, the neighbouring village providing services to both Norwich and Cambridge. The town of Attleborough, approximately 6 miles away, offers a good range of everyday facilities and amenities including banks, supermarkets and schools. The property is approximately 20 miles from Norwich, the Cathedral city and regional centre of East Anglia. Directions Leave Norwich via the A11, bypassing Wymondham and Attleborough. At the end of the Attleborough bypass, immediately after the roundabout, take the next left hand turn signposted to Quidenham and Eccles. At the end of the slip road, turn left again towards Quidenham and Eccles. After half a mile, turn right again towards Quidenham and Eccles. Drive through Eccles and upon entering Quidenham at the sign, the entrance to The Old Rectory is the first turn on the left hand side. The postcode for the property is NR16 2NY.     Parish Registers and Transcripts in the Norfolk Record Office This list summarises the Norfolk Record Office’s (NRO’s) holdings of parish (Church of England) registers and of transcripts and other copies of them. Parish Registers The NRO holds registers of baptisms, marriages, burials and banns of marriage for most parishes in the Diocese of Norwich (including Suffolk parishes in and near Lowestoft in the deanery of Lothingland) and part of the Diocese of Ely in south-west Norfolk (parishes in the deanery of Fincham and Feltwell). Some Norfolk parish records remain in the churches, especially more recent registers, which may be still in use. In the extreme west of the county, records for parishes in the deanery of Wisbech Lynn Marshland are deposited in the Wisbech and Fenland Museum, whilst Welney parish records are at the Cambridgeshire Record Office.
