Profile of the Gwalior & Chambal Division Gwalior and Chambal Divisions are administrative subdivisions of Madhya Pradesh consisting 9% & 6% of state population respectively. Gwalior Division covers five districts namely Ashoknagar, Datia, Guna, Gwalior, and Shivpuri and Chambal Division consists of the three districts namely Morena, Bhind and Sheopur. The MMR of the Chambal Division is 311 and Gwalior Division is 262. Four Districts in the Division have higher IMR & U5MR as compared to State average. Under this project, the Governemnt of India has planned to incentivise the State Governments to push up agricultural production and development of allied sector. One important mandatory of the NADP/ RKVY is to identify the Technical Support Institutes (TSI) and under its guidance the Comprehensive District Agriculture Plans (CDAPs) and State Agriculture Plan (SAP) are to be prepared. In this context, five highly reputed professional experienced organizations have been selected by the Government of M.P., adopting transparent selection procedures. Accordingly Comprehensive District Agriculture Plans (CDAPs) for all 48districts with the exception of the two districts, namely Dhar, Dewas districts have been prepared with the help of concerned district administration and submitted to Government of M.P. Further, by consolidating the CDAPs, the State Agriculture Plan (SAP) has been prepared. The State Agriculture Plan (SAP) is brought out by integrating all the 50 District Agriculture Plans. In total, there are seven chapters. -

Result revealed the occurrence of 28 lichen species belonging to 16 genera and 9 families. The members of the lichen family Physciaceae, Teloschistaceae and Verrucariaceae dominate the lichen diversity on monuments as represented by 5 species each of the families, followed by members of Peltulaceae and Lecanoraceae. Among the different growth forms, crustose exhibits their luxuriant growth, followed by squamulose and foliose on various monuments. Substrate preference for lichen colonization is apparent by occurrence of maximum diversity of lichens represented by 27 species on sandstone, followed by concrete, igneous granite, calcareous and clay represented by 7, 6, 5 and 2 species respectively. The rock porosity was calculated to measure water holding capacity and the correlation between rock porosity and lichen growth were studied which shows that the squamulose growth form lichen Endocarpon rosettum and Endocarpon subrosettum with thick medullary zone, grows on rocks having maximum water holding capacity of 43% each followed by Phylliscum indicum and Endocarpon nanum growing on rocks with 23% and 16.5% water holding capacities respectively. -
