Monday 18 September

9.00-9.30 Ashby Foyer Registration – Register with the School

9.30 –10.30 Ashby/01/001 Introduction by Head of School Welcome address by Prof Peter Hepper and members of the School. This introduction will help get to know the staff in the School.

10.30 –11.00 Elmwood Hall Refreshments served in Elmwood Hall

11.00-12:15 Elmwood Hall Getting to know your year group An opportunity to network with students and staff

14 The Elmwood Hall is located on University Road opposite the main QUB Lanyon Building, in between the Student Guidance Centre and the Students’ Union.

12.45 Whitla Hall Welcome address by acting Vice Chancellor, Prof James McElnay A short speech from James McElnay which will welcome you

7 to Queen’s and introduce you to the University.

The Whitla Hall is located on the main University campus, opposite the Elmwood Hall.

Tuesday 19 September

Time Location Activity 9.30 – 11.00 Various rooms Meet your Personal Tutor

(David Keir Time to meet with your Personal Tutor who will work with you Building, Malone throughout your three years at Queen’s. This will be in small Road entrance) groups and provides an opportunity to ask any early questions you may have.

11.00 – 1.00 MBC 110 Enrolment and Registration Medical Biology At registration you will complete necessary paper work Centre, (including finances) and be issued with your student card. Rd Please note for students living within Elms Village that there is a fast track system at the Elms so you will not need to do this

Thursday 21 September

Time Location Activity 9.30 – 11.15 Ashby Building, Students Union Stranmillis Road This talk introduces you to the Student’s Union at Queen’s Ash/01/001 Student Guidance Centre This session outlines the services available within the Student 32 Guidance Centre as well as useful advice and tips from Learning Development Service (LDS) and the Resilience and Well Being (RAW) Team.

11.30 – 1.00 Various rooms Meet your Advisor of Studies You will be allocated a slot to meet with your Advisor of or (David Keir Studies. Building) 1.00 – 2.30 The Advisors of Studies this year are Dr Eugene O’Hare, Dr Lesley Storey and Dr Debbie Wells.

11.30 - 12.30 McClay Library Library tour The library tour is critical in understanding how to use the or (Main campus) library facilities. Please meet at the McClay Library Auditorium at your allocated time. 1.30 – 2.30
