Cleveland 20/20 Music Festival Who thought that a music festival could change a child’s future? Five Beachwood High School seniors organized the Cleveland 20/20 Music Festival during the Memorial Day Rib Cook- Off at the Tower City Amphitheater. The festival doubled as a college and career fair to reverse the “brain drain” in Cleveland by opening up excellent educational, internship, and career opportunities. Nationally renowned bands Rusted Root and moe., as well as the winners of the 2010 Tri-C High School Rock Off, highlighted the entertainment.

The award honors students who excelled in academic-related extracurricular activities or who have received distinguished honors from participation in an outside organization. This ceremony culminated what was another remarkable year of academic successes for our students, both in the classroom and through extracurricular activities. Beachwood students participated in-and achieved individual and team recognition for-regional, state, national, and global competitions in science, math, language arts, music, world affairs, marketing, culinary arts, and technolo- gy, among many others. The 2010 Ohio Educational Technology Conference – attracting more than 6,500 participants from across the state of Ohio, February 1-3 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center – invited Beachwood staff members to present on different topics that would teach how technology can be used across the P-20 educational continuum, how it can positively impact student achievement, bring together campus collaborations, and provide development that emphasizes how current technology is a resource for educators.
