    In bici da Pont Canavese al Nivolet (a due passi dal cielo!) Con le prime giornate dal sapore primaverile cerchiamo di coinvolgervi ancora una volta in sella alla bici per pedalare nella nostra bella regione, stavolta spostandoci dal Torinese per entrare direttamente in quella che si può definire la vallata più estesa e importante del Canavese: la Valle Orco. Si tratta di uno tra i più classici itinerari ciclistici, molto frequentato dagli appassionati nella bella stagione, che presenta una buona lunghezza ma soprattutto un notevole dislivello: dai 700 metri di Pont Canavese in 55 km ci porta ai 1650 metri di Ceresole Reale e poi ancora più in alto, prima alle dighe del Lago Serrù e del Lago Agnel e poi al Col del Nivolet, sullo spartiacque con la Valle d’Aosta, superando un dislivello complessivo di oltre 2100 metri. Pont Canavese verso levante, veduta di Clemente Rovere, 1847. 1 Pont Canavese verso levante al giorno d’oggi. Certamente i più sportivi potranno partire direttamente da Torino, mentre quelli un po’ meno allenati sceglieranno se partire a metà valle, oltre Pont o magari da Ceresole, oltrepassando così uno dei tratti più impegnativi ma forse anche più affascinanti, lungo i tornanti della vecchia strada ora superata dalla galleria di Noasca, inaugurata nel 1995. La Valle Orco è la valle emblema del Parco Nazionale del Gran Paradiso, il primo parco nazionale italiano (1920) sorto tra Piemonte e Valle d’Aosta e che ingloba oltre al massiccio omonimo quattro tra le più affascinanti vallate alpine che da esso si dipartono: Valsavaranche, Val di Cogne, Val Soana e, appunto, Valle Orco.

    Stazione di interscambio Porta Canavese-Monferrato tra la linea AV Torino-Milano e la ferrovia Chivasso-Aosta per Canavese, Monferrato, Ovest Vercellese, Valle d’Aosta La stazione si trova dove la linea AV incrocia in sopraelevazione la ferrovia Chivasso-Aosta. in una zona molto infrastrutturata, a poche centinaia di metri dallo svincolo autostradale di Chivasso Centro, cui è facilmente collegata dalla viabilità esistente, con ampia possibilità di realizzare parcheggi. (TAVOLA 1) L’area destinata alla stazione è quasi tutta di proprietà pubblica e insiste su terreni per lo più incolti, in una zona che benecerebbe di riqualicazione. La posizione della stazione è strategica rispetto alle vie di comunicazione esistenti che si dipartono a raggiera verso il Canavese e la Valle d’Aosta, il Monferrato, l’Ovest Vercellese e l’area Est della Città metropolitana: è naturalmente uno snodo cruciale nella rete ferroviaria e stradale. (TAVOLA 2) La stazione è facilmente inseribile nella rete del trasporto pubblico esistente: può essere raccordata direttamente alle 5 linee ferroviarie e alle 12 linee di autobus che conuiscono nel nodo di Chivasso. Tutte le linee di autobus possono transitare o fare capolinea nella stazione; inoltre già oggi vi transitano i treni Torino-Chivasso-Ivrea-(Aosta) e Ivrea-Chivasso-Novara: con la costrunzione di tronchini a lato della linea Chivasso-Ivrea si possono attestare nella stazione corse da Casale, Asti o del Servizio Ferroviario Metropolitano, corse che possono in futuro proseguire per Ivrea con il potenziamento della tratta Chivasso-Ivrea.
