Foreword

This Corporate Plan sets out the strategic direction for over the next number of years. In developing this plan we have taken cognisance of the views and perspectives of a broad range of key stakeholders including our own staff, elected members, partner organisations, our customers and the wider community.

Throughout the lifetime of this plan we will ensure that our core values will continue to underpin all of our work including the way services and supports are delivered throughout the county, our representational structures and our ongoing efforts to lead and promote the economic regeneration of our local economy.

Our changing operating environment requires that we continue to be responsive and flexible in how we do business. The dedication and resilience demonstrated by our staff over the last number of years must be commended. This provides us with an excellent base to continue to foster an innovative and creative approach so as to ensure that the service and supports we provide meets our customers needs.

Working in collaboration with various key stakeholders has been a cornerstone of how we do business and this plan will continue to reinforce this approach. Our linkages with key partners at a local, regional, national and crossborder level will continue to be strengthened and our global connections particularly through the Donegal diaspora will form an important element of our corporate approach particularly in terms of promoting the economic regeneration of our local economy.

The objectives of this plan will be delivered by the elected members of Donegal County Council in conjunction with the management and staff of the Council. We are fully committed to harnessing all of our resources to empower and develop the potential of Donegal.
