Okay, since we started with issue 0, this is actually the fourteenth issue, but being this close to October, Enjoying Retirement 75 we'll go with Lucky Thirteen! And, what an issue it is - not only do we have our usual Written by: Robert J. Santa collection of game, miniature, and RPG supplement reviews, but we've also got a few BATTLE REPORT special articles. Reaper Miniatures The first these special articles is one for whic a lot of people have been asking. Here at FR, www.reapermini.com we have often published articles and battle reports for Rackham's Confrontation. This Warlord 79 time we're publishing a complete example of play. The Confrontation game mechanics Written by: Mark Theurer/J Michael Tisdel are vastly different from most other miniature games and this causes quite a bit of GAME PREVIEW confusion. We hope that this article helps new players (and maybe old hands) understand the game a little bit better. Excelsior Entertainment www.excelsiorentertainment.com Hot off the presses from Excelsior, we've got the Ultimate Warzone Primer - so you can Ultimate Warzone Preview 86 get ready to take your Megacorp troops out to face the forces of the Dark Apostles. Me? Written by: Excelsior Entertainment Staff My Brotherhood army is ready to see some action again after an extended R&R. As CONCEPT ARTWORK Gunny R. Lee Ermy says, "Oo-rah!" Excelsior Entertainment The d20 Modern RPG brought orcs to New York in a way we've not seen before. So, www.excelsiorentertainment.com what to do for miniatures? Where can you find a roller-blading gnoll? We've got the Ultimate Warzone and Chronopia 89 answer in a little article on figures for d20 modern. [Ok, maybe not a roller-blading gnoll. Written by: Excelsior Entertainment Staff Mark] GAME BACKGROUND Before you read any further, go find a deck of cards - because you'll need 'em. No, not Excelsior Entertainment collectable cards or even oil change discount cards, I mean playing cards - you know, the www.excelsiorentertainment.com ones with spades, hearts, diamonds, and clubs. You'll need 'em for two of our featured Ultimate Warzone Background 91 articles. First off we have part one of an adventure for Pinnacle's Savage Worlds RPG. Written by: Excelsior Entertainment Staff Dangerous Dealings and Marvelous Maidens is an adventure in the style of the 1930's movie serials - that borrows heavily from both Flash Gordon and Sam Spade. The other featured article is a battle report for Reaper's new fantasy miniatures skirmish game Warlord. Mark and I played in a 3-way game of Warlord with Ed Pugh and Anne Foerster of Reaper. This is a brand new game for Reaper - and we had the opportunity to play on the table Reaper used for the pictures in the rule book. Who won? Was it the Reaper home team or the visitors from FR? Read the BatRep to find out! Now, I bet your wondering what a deck of playing cards has to do with Savage Worlds and Warlord? Well, both systems use decks of cards to determine who moves when during the round. These games didn't invent this mechanic, heck it's as old as miniature games themselves. I wouldn't be surprised if H.G. Wells used it in his Little Wars book ADVERTISER INDEX waaaay back when. Personally, I like the mechanic. It's much better than rolling a die - you get randomness without the you-go-I-go monotony of other systems. Great Canadian Miniatures IFC, 74 WarZone GTS 14, 16, 28, 84 I won't take up any more of you time - I'm sure you're anxious to see what all we've Tactical Miniatures 14 crammed into this collection of bits and bytes. Take a good look at what we've brought Privateer Press 15 Kryomek USA 20 you - and then take a moment to let us know what you liked and what you didn't like. We Pinnacle Entertainment Group 23, 57 take that kind of input and use it to make a better magazine. Excalibur Miniaturen 23 100 Kingdoms 25, 71 And remember, while you're reading this magazine, those of us here in the FR cloister are Dark Basement Miniatures 29 already hard at work on the December issue. I won't say what we have in store for issue 14 Reaper Miniatures 32, 78 - you'll just have to look at the previews page on the Fictional Reality web site. Fantization 34, 82 Dark Age Games 37 Excelsior Entertainment 39, 87 So, until next time, have a safe and happy Fall - and try to get in a few games between RPG Objects 49, 55 now and December . 8) Brok’s Armory 61 Zombiesmith 63 RPG Now.com 64 Bring Your Miniatures to Life 67 Michael Tisdel Charon Productions 72 2 In this article I’ll be talking about and showing you my picks for the most of this column) will usable miniatures in a d20 Modern game. SOLUZIONE: ICEWIND DALE II PROLOGO TARGOS DOCK: 1.

  • Welcome to the Great Ring
Planescape Campaign Setting Chapter 1: Introduction Introduction Project Managers Ken Marable Gabriel Sorrel Editors Gabriel Sorrel Sarah Hood Writers Gabriel Sorrel Sarah Hood Layout Sarah Hood 1 There hardly seem any words capable of expressing the years of hard work and devotion that brings this book to you today, so I will simply begin with “Welcome to the planes”. Let this book be your doorway and guide to the multiverse, a place of untold mysteries, wonders the likes of which are only spoken of in legend, and adventurers that take you from the lowest depths of Hell to the highest reaches of Heaven. Here in you will leave behind the confines and trappings of a single world in order to embrace the potential of infinity and the ability to travel Introduction wherever you please. All roads lie open to planewalkers brave enough to explore the multiverse, and soon you will be facing wonders no ordinary adventure could encompass. Consider this a step forward in your gaming development as well, for here we look beyond tales of simple dungeon crawling to the concepts and forces that move worlds, make gods, and give each of us something to live for. The struggles that define existence and bring opposing worlds together will be laid out before you so that you may choose how to shape conflicts that touch millions of lives. Even when the line between good and evil, lawful and chaotic, is as clear as the boundaries between neighboring planes, nothing is black and white, with dark tyrants and benevolent kings joining forces to stop the spread of anarchy, or noble and peasant sitting together in the same hall to discuss shared philosophy.

The Legend of Rock Paper Scissors Drew Daywalt (author); Adam Rex (illustrator) From New York Times bestselling creators Drew Daywalt, author of The Day the Crayons Quit and The Day the Crayons Came Home, and Adam Rex, author- illustrator of Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich, comes a laugh-out-loud hilarious picture book about the epic tale of the classic game Rock, Paper, Scissors. You’ve played the game. Now read the legend of how it all began . Long ago, in an ancient and distant realm called the Kingdom of Backyard, there lived a warrior named ROCK. Meanwhile in the Empire of Mom’s Home Office, a second great warrior sought the glory of battle. And his name was PAPER. At the same time, in the Kitchen Realm, in the tiny village of Junk Drawer, lived a third warrior. They called her SCISSORS. These three were the strongest, smartest, and fastest in all the land. Time and again they beat the most fearsome opponents they could find: an apricot, a computer printer—even frozen, breaded, dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets! But when the warriors finally meet each other, the most epic round of battles begins . and never ends. That is why, to this day, children around the world honor these worthy adversaries by playing ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS! Drew Daywalt is an award-winning, New York Times #1 bestselling children's author and horror screenwriter whose books include The Day the Crayons Quit and Star Wars: BB-8 on the Run. He lives in Los Angeles, California, with his wife and two children.
