Information Notice to Delegates

I. INTRODUCTION

1. The UNECE secretariat, on behalf of the co-hosts, would like to thank you for registering to attend the UNECE International Forum on people-first PPPs for the Sustainable Development Goals (PPP Forum 2017). This information notice was prepared for the purpose of providing basic information pertaining to your trip to . We are most happy to welcome you.

II. TRANSFER FROM HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

2. Getting to and from Hong Kong International Airport from within Hong Kong is easy, convenient and relatively inexpensive.

Train The MTR’s high-speed Airport Express train is the fastest transport link from the airport and takes approximately 24 minutes to reach . Airport Express passengers can catch a free shuttle bus from and Hong Kong stations to major hotels. Both these stations also provide free in-town check-in services for major airlines when you are returning to the airport. Please contact your airline for further information.

Taxi Taxis are readily available from the taxi pick-up area in front of the airport’s Arrivals Hall. If you are travelling to Hong Kong Island or Kowloon, you will need to catch a red taxi. If you are headed for the you will need a green taxi, and those going to Lantau Island will require a blue taxi. All taxis in Hong Kong are able to take passengers to and from the airport. Fares are metered and detailed information about charges are clearly displayed inside each taxi.

Bus There are 12 convenient Airbus ‘A’ routes that can take you from the airport to key locations on Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories (including Lantau Island) with fewer stops than an ordinary city bus. When you exit the Arrivals Hall, turn right to find Airbuses and city buses.

Coach and limousine charter Passengers who require their own personal limousines, minivans, vans and group coaches (buses) can book their transport from service providers located in the Arrivals Hall of Terminal 1 or in the coach station located in Terminal 2.

III. VENUE

3. The PPP Forum 2017 will take place at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) at the following address: 5/F, Lau Ming Wai Academic Building, City University of Hong Kong, 83 Tat Chee Avenue, , Kowloon, Hong Kong (see campus map below).

Getting to CityU (I) By MTR Get off at : 1. Find Exit C to then take Exit C2. 2. In Festival Walk, go up to Level LG1.

Route 1 a. Find Shop LG1-10, take the escalator next to it, which brings you to a pedestrian subway leading to CityU. b. Pass through the pedestrian subway and turn right to reach the Chinese Garden. c. Walk through the Chinese Garden and you will see Lau Ming Wai Academic Building in front of you.

Route 1 - second path a. Find Shop LG1-10, take the escalator next to it, which brings you to a pedestrian subway leading to CityU. b. Pass through the pedestrian subway and find the arched staircases on either side. c. Go up the stairs to Tat Chee Avenue and walk straight up along the pavement on your left and you will see Lau Ming Wai Academic Building in front of you.

Route 2 a. Leave Festival Walk at G/F. b. Turn right onto Tat Chee Avenue, and go straight up. c. After crossing a driveway, turn right and walk down along the University Drive to the Tak Chee Yuen. d. Go straight (before reaching the U-circle) and you will see Lau Ming Wai Academic Building on your right.

(II) By MTR Get off at Kowloon Tong station: Travelling from North to South, exit from Exit G2. Travelling from South to North, exit from Exit H

Route 3 a. Do not enter Festival Walk. b. Turn right, walk along the footpath and take the stairs on the left up to Tak Chee Yuen. c. Turn right and walk straight down and you will see Lau Ming Wai Academic Building on your right.

(III) By Taxi Ask the taxi driver to take you to City University of Hong Kong, 83 Tat Chee Avenue, Kowloon Tong, Kowloon and drop you off at the University Circle. When you get out of the taxi, you are in front of the Amenities Building and Cheng Yick-chi Building. Print and show (九龍塘達之路 83 號香港城市大學) to the taxi driver.

(IV) By Bus There are two bus terminals near City University. One is at Kowloon Tong MTR Station. The other is the Yau Yat Tsuen (Festival Walk) Bus Terminus.

Buses that stop at the Kowloon Tong MTR Station Bus Terminus are - buses of KMB (Kowloon Motor Bus) with Route Number: 80M, 81M, 82M, 88M; and - bus of CityBus with Route Number: 62R

They are all from the bus terminals of Shatin, which include Sui Wo Court (80M), Sun Tin Wai (81M), Kwong Yuen (82M), Hin Keng (88M), and City One Shatin (62R). Please visit the website of the corresponding public transport company for the detailed bus stop locations.

When you get off at Kowloon Tong MTR Station Bus Terminus, the easiest way to get to City University is through the MTR station. Just go into the MTR station and find Exit C2, which leads to the Festival Walk shopping centre. Go up to Level LG1 and find the escalator next to Shop LG1-10.

LG1-10, which will take you to one end of the CityU underpass. When you emerge from the underpass, CityU's main entrance is right in front of you.

Buses that stop at the Yau Yat Tsuen (Festival Walk) Bus Terminus are - buses of KMB (Kowloon Motor Bus) with Route Number: 2C, 203; and - bus of NWFB (New World First Bus) with Route Number: 796B - mini buses with Route Number: 2/2A, 10M/10A, 41M/41A, 72, 73

Both 2C and 203 circulate between Yau Yat Tsuen and Tsim Sha Tsui, whereas 796B is from the bus terminus of Tiu Keng Leng MTR Station. (Please visit the website of the corresponding public transport company for the detailed bus stop locations.) The mini buses are from various locations including Whampoa Garden (2/2A), Nam Cheong West Rail Station (10M/10A), Shek Kei Mei MTR Station (41M/41A), Grand View Garden (72), and Tsz Wan Shan Centre (73).

When you get off at Festival Walk, go down to Level LG1 and find the escalator next to Shop LG1-10, which will take you to one end of the CityU underpass. When you emerge from the underpass, CityU's main entrance is right in front of you.

IV. REGISTRATION

4. Registration starts at 8.15am on Tuesday, 9 May, and will take place at 5-009, 5/F, Lau Ming Wai Academic Building, CityU where participants will be issued with a lapel badge for the duration of the PPP Forum 2017. Delegates are requested to print out and bring with them a copy of their invitation letter issued by CityU with a valid ID with photo (e.g., passport or driving license). Once inside the Lau Ming Wai Academic Building, delegates are required to take the escalator one floor up to reach the foyer of Wong Cheung Lo Hui Yuet Hal (WCLHY Hall). Signs will be posted in prominent spots to guide delegates to the plenary room. A welcome refreshment will be served in the foyer from 8.30am on Tuesday, 9 May. (see floor plan below)

V. ORGANIZATION

5. The PPP Forum 2017 will start on 9 May in WCLHY Hall at 9.15am. Upon registration, delegates will receive an information pack, including a PPP Forum 2017 brochure and other conference documents. A map of the CityU will be included in the information pack given to delegates upon registration. An electronic version of the map is available here.

VI. CONFERENCE FEE AND OTHER EXPENSES

6. No conference fee is charged for the participation in the PPP Forum 2017. Travel and accommodation expenses will be borne by the participants unless special prior individual arrangements have been made directly with the hosting organisations and other donors.

VII. HOSPITALITY

7. Throughout the PPP Forum 2017, the co-hosts together with a number of sponsors will provide coffee and tea (with a light refreshment on 9-11 May) free of charge for all delegates. During all coffee breaks, a wide selection of sandwiches (including vegetarian options), cookies and cakes would be provided. An evening reception will be hosted on 9 May.

VIII. PROGRAMME AND DOCUMENTATION

8. The PPP Forum 2017 brochure containing the programme will be distributed to participants upon registration at Reception on the 5/F, Lau Ming Wai Academic Building. The provisional PPP Forum 2017 Programme is available to download. Other documents pertaining to the event will be included in an information pack for all delegates upon registration.

IX. OPTIONAL SITE VISITS ON 11 May 2017

9. Two optional site visits will be arranged on Thursday, 11 May with more information available in due course.

X. INTERPRETATION AND VISUAL AIDS

10. Simultaneous interpretation in Chinese, English and Russian will be provided in the plenary conference room (WCLHY Hall). No interpretation is available in the parallel sessions (Room 6-207, 6-208, 7-207 and 7-208, Lau Ming Wai Academic Building).

XI. TRAVEL AND HOTEL RESERVATIONS

11. Participants are requested to make their own hotel and travel arrangements to and from Hong Kong. Please plan to arrive in Hong Kong by Monday, 8 May, and depart either on Thursday, 11 May (after 7 p.m.) or on Friday, 12 May. In order to facilitate accommodation in Hong Kong, CityU has blocked a number of hotel rooms in selected hotels.

XII. STANDS AND EXHIBITION

12. A number of stands will be installed throughout the PPP Forum 2017 in the foyer of the plenary room (WCLHY Hall).

XIII. INFORMATION DESK

13. A PPP Forum 2017 information desk will be available outside the plenary room (WCLHY Hall) to provide participants with general information and to answer general questions.

XIV. CONNECTIVITY

14. All CityU conference rooms and public spaces are equipped with WiFi connection. The service is free of charge and no password is required. Computers with internet access (via LAN) will be available at Room 7-218.

XV. PASSPORTS AND VISAS

15. No visa or entry permit is required if you hold any of the following travel documents:

• Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Passport, • British National (Overseas) Passport, • Hong Kong Certificate of Identity, • Hong Kong Re-entry permit (for entry from the Mainland of China and the Macao Special Administrative Region only), • Hong Kong Seaman's Identity Book, • Hong Kong Document of Identity for Visa Purposes provided that the document is valid or the holder's limit of stay in Hong Kong has not expired. • Travel documents bearing one of the following endorsements: "Holder's eligibility for Hong Kong permanent identity card verified." o "The holder of this travel document has the right to land in Hong Kong. (Section 2AAA, Immigration Ordinance, Cap. 115, Laws of Hong Kong)" • Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card.

Participants who need a visa should obtain the appropriate visa before travelling to Hong Kong (HKSAR). HKSAR visa requirements for foreign countries / territories are available here. CityU will also provide participants with letters of invitation that can be used as a supporting document to the visa application form.
