Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time – January 31, 2021 January 31, 2021

From Fr. Liguori,

Our ’s Annual Stewardship Appeal (BASA) is now underway. You may have already received a mailing from Bishop Estévez, asking for your support and participation. Please prayerfully consider a pledge to the Appeal using the response card mailed to you or by completing a commitment envelope at Mass the weekend of February 13-14. Our annual theme, “One Faith, One Family” reminds us that our faith community is made up of a network of parishes. Bishop Estévez invites each of us to join together in support of the beautiful mission of our Church, as we are all called to be good stewards of what we have been gifted with. Please prayerfully respond to this year’s Annual Appeal with a gift of any amount. The generosity expressed through this critical effort has been so inspiring, especially in a year that has seen so much need.

First Friday Holy Hour February 5th @ 6pm The Blessed Sacrament will be solemnly Exposed for Adoration. We pray the rosary, and then have quiet time for prayer, and end with Benediction. Please consider attending this monthly event in order to help you grow closer to Jesus’ Real Presence in the Eucharist.

First Friday Families Families meet in parish hall for potluck dinner and fellowship before going to the church for Holy Hour. For more information contact: [email protected] ______

First Saturday Mass February 6th @ 10am First Sunday Latin Mass February 7th @ 12 noon.

The will often speak about practicing the “spiritual works of mercy.”What are the spiritual works of mercy? The Catechism of the Catholic Church explains that “The works of mercy are charitable actions by which we come to the aid of our neighbor in his spiritual and bodily necessities” (CCC 2447).These works of mercy are directed toward our spiritual well-being that we may recognize the eternal goal we are called to attain.

The Church lists the spiritual works of mercy as follows:

1. To instruct the ignorant 2. To counsel the doubtful 3. To admonish sinners 4. To bear wrongs patiently 5. To forgive offenses willingly 6. To comfort the afflicted 7. To pray for the living and the dead
