Nauticam housing for PowerShot S120 Nauticam is shipping their housing for the Canon PowerShot S120 compact camera. It features access to the camera’s front command dial, a 67mm thread on its lens port to facilitate the attachment of accessory lenses and fiber optic bulkheads for strobe triggering. Press Release Announcing the NA-S120 Housing for Canon Powershot S120 Innovation Underwater Nauticam is pleased to announce the immediate availability of underwater housings for the latest version of Canon’s popular Powershot S series camera, the NA-S120. The Canon S120 provides the advanced feature set and full manual control required for successful underwater photography, but in an ultra compact package perfectly suited for the traveling diver. Canon’s S120 is maintains the popular features of its previous S-series cameras, with improvements in the lens, video functionality, and LCD touch screen. The 24-120mm lens covers a very useful range, allowing both wide angle and macro shots in one package, and works very well with wet wide angle lenses for super wide coverage. The camera’s touch screen has improved resolution for easy confirmation of focus and composition. The S120 shoots 1080 60P video in MP4 format, and retains use of the optical zoom while shooting. Best of all, it fits in a shirt pocket. Nauticam NA-S120 Housing Nauticam has extensive experience designing professional grade aluminum housings for the compact digital camera market and that experience shows in every detail of the NA- S120. Complete camera control, excellent ergonomics, and rugged build quality make this system an excellent choice for someone looking for substantial imaging power in a tiny package. The intuitive rotating housing latch, rugged machined aluminum case and 100 meter depth rating are now well proven. The rear mounted housing o-ring makes maintenance a simple task. A super sensitive shutter release provides the best “feel” in the business, allowing precise control over half press for pre focusing the camera before a shot. Nauticam is famous for its ergonomic innovation, and NA-S120 continues this tradition. Every button and control is clearly labeled and easy to access – even with gloves on. This housing is designed and field tested to capitalize on every ounce of potential from both camera and photographer alike. Front and Rear command dials are readily available to forefinger and thumb while never releasing grip. Manual aperture and shutter speed adjustment is a breeze and the front command dial can be programmed for other functions when not shooting full manual. Video functions are easily engaged and performance is particularly impressive when utilizing a quality wide angle wet lens. Wide Angle & Macro on the Same Dive One major advantage of compact systems like the S120 is the ability to use wide angle and macro accessory lenses that can be attached underwater, providing multiple imaging possibilities on a single dive. Nauticam includes a 67mm port thread for mounting optional wet lenses as standard equipment, and the optical glass port is precisely placed for optimal wide angle accessory lens compatibility. This allows the NA-S120 to work in perfect concert with the superb Inon UWL-H100 28 M67 Type II wide angle lens. This combination allows for images with a substantial 100 degree field of view, excellent corner sharpness and no vignetting! To take wide angle a step further; photographers can utilize Inon’s optional Dome Unit II on the UWL-H100 to generate a panoramic 145 degree field of view that allows for super close focus wide angle opportunities, or Fix UWL-28 (attached via 67-52mm Step Down Ring) as an economical and light weight ultra wide lens option. The S120 does a great job of shooting small creatures just by itself, but can get into the world of the very small by adding a close up lens via the 67mm lens mount. Any of several popular close-up lenses can be used, including the ground breaking Nauticam Super Macro Converter (SMC). The Nauticam SMC-1 is the only commercially available macro lens specifically designed and optimized for in water use. SMC-1 is extremely powerful, increasing the maximum magnification of S120 by up to 300%, reducing the captured FOV to a mere 22mm wide (less than an inch). For those underwater photographers who embrace minimalist size, but want maximum potential, the NA-S120 just may be what you’ve been waiting for. LCD Magnifier with Dioptric Adjustment Compact camera systems utilize close focus vision, and the accessory Nauticam LCD Magnifier with Dioptric Adjustment (25106) can be extremely advantageous for clearly viewing fine focus and camera display info. The LCD Magnifier also provides generous sun shading, making the camera’s lcd screen much easier to see in bright sunlight. Attachment rails (25123) are required to mount the LCD Magnifier. Optional Rubberized Ergonomic Handles The optional Nauticam Flexitray or Easitray provide a lightweight, compact mounting solution for strobe arms and the NA-S120 housing. Nauticam uses a sophisticated over- mold process to produce extremely comfortable rubberized ergonomic handgrips. The soft feel and comfortable design make the housing easy to grip and minimize hand fatigue on long dives. Both single and double handle configurations are available for complete customization, and each handle can be adjusted laterally allowing the user to dial in perfect fit. Optical Flash Connectors for Inon S-TTL, and Sea & Sea DS-TTL Reliable automatic flash exposure is available with the NA-S120 and a variety of optically fired flashes. The Inon Z-240, D-2000, S-2000, Sea & Sea YS-01 and YS-D1 strobes provide automated lighting, precisely reproducing the camera’s onboard flash at a proportionally greater intensity. This system yields accurate automatic TTL flash performance – even in manual mode - with no electrical sync cables to flood! The NA- S120 comes fiber optic ready and accepts standard Sea & Sea style bushing connections. Nauticam Fiber Optic cables, available for both Inon and Sea&Sea strobes, provide the best light transmission and therefore more accurate TTL of any fiber optic cable on the market. Strobes can be attached to the housing via optional strobe mounting balls secured to the handles of the Nauticam accessory tray systems or a single strobe mounting ball location on the housing. The housing also features a cold-shoe mount for a focus light or other accessory mounting options. Nauticam Build Quality Only the finest materials and cutting edge manufacturing processes are used to make Nauticam housings. The housing body is machined from solid aircraft grade aluminum, then hard anodized making it impervious to salt water and provides an impressive 100 meter depth rating. The large acrylic LCD window is treated with an anti-reflective, scratch resistant coating. Specifications • Depth Rating: 100m. • Dimensions: 143mm x 97mm 95mm. • Weight: 0.6kg Model Number: 17314 .
