DAY 1 – SATURDAY, DECEMBER 21ST – ARRIVAL (TRANSFER ONLY) • Arrival #1 (3 people): o Welcome to Israel!!! Arrival at on Austrian Airlines flight OS 861 at 5:35 pm. You will be met by a representative and escorted through passport control, baggage claim, and customs. o Transfer to the hotel, check in, relax, and un-pack. • Dinner (on your own) at a local restaurant. DAY 2 – SUNDAY, DECEMBER 22nd – JERUSALEM (GUIDE & CAR) • Full Israeli breakfast at the hotel. • Arrival #2 (1 person): o Welcome to Israel!!! Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport on Flight UA 84 at 9:20am. You will be met by a representative and escorted through passport control, baggage claim, and customs. o Transfer to the hotel and check in. • 12:00 pm - Meet your guide in the hotel lobby and set out on your tour! • Ascend the Mount of Olives and enjoy the opportunity to take in the unrivaled views of the Old City of Jerusalem and learn a little about the site’s historic and religious significance. • Continue to the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations • Walk down the Via Dolorosa and see the 14 Stations of the Cross. • Tour the beautiful and historic Church of the Holy Sepulchre, built on the site where Jesus was believed to be crucified, buried, and resurrected (time permitting). • Dinner (on your own) at a local restaurant. DAY 3 – MONDAY, DECEMBER 23RD – OLD CITY JERUSALEM (GUIDE & CAR) • Full Israeli breakfast at the hotel. • Explore the , where you will begin with a breathtaking hilltop view of Biblical Jerusalem and continue on through 3,800 years of history. See historical and archaeological finds from both the First and Second Temple periods, and venture underground to the Gihon Spring. • Lunch en-route (on your own). • Wander through the Jewish Quarter and experience the rich history and culture of the Jewish people through its yeshivas, synagogues, and of course the . • Tour the Davidson Center, home to archaeological discoveries from the First and Second Temple periods, including a drainage channel containing rare artifacts from the destruction of Jerusalem. The Center even offers a 3D model of Jerusalem where you can explore the site from the point of view of the pilgrims. • Walk through and see the Room of the Last Supper and King David’s Tomb; here you will have an opportunity to get an understanding of how the three major religions of Jerusalem intertwine (time permitting). • Dinner (on your own) at a local restaurant. DAY 4 – TUESDAY, DECEMBER 24TH – JERUSALEM/BETHLEHEM (CAR ONLY) (CHRISTMAS EVE) • Full Israeli breakfast at the hotel. • 9:30 am - Your driver will meet you in the lobby of the hotel and will take you to each of the day’s activities. • 10:00 am – Private Tour of with a Yad Vashem guide. Israel’s official Holocaust memorial site and the definitive source for Holocaust education, documentation, and research. Learn about and pay tribute to the victims of the Holocaust, Jews who fought their Nazi oppressors, and non-Jews who aided the victims of the Nazi Regime. (As you are on your own this day, please go to the ticket counter of the museum, with your Dekel Voucher in hand, to meet your guide for the tour. Your reservation number is: #375553) • Your driver will then take you to the Market. • Explore the hustling and bustling (on your own) in Jerusalem, where you can taste wonderful foods from local vendors, buy local goods and produce, and enjoy the quintessentially Israeli chaos of market shopping. • Enjoy lunch en-route (on your own) while at Mahane Yehuda Market. • Your driver will then drive you back to the hotel. • Afternoon at leisure. • Dinner (on your own) at a local restaurant. • 7:30 pm – Evening departure to Bethlehem. The driver will pick you from the hotel. • Experience a once-in-a-lifetime midnight mass in Bethlehem. You'll join thousands of pilgrims in Manger Square to watch as this very special service is broadcast from the Church of the Nativity. • 12:00 am approx.– Late-night return to Jerusalem. DAY 5 – WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 25TH – LOWER GALILEE (GUIDE & CAR) (CHRISTMAS DAY) • Enjoy a full Israeli breakfast at the hotel and check out. • Explore Caesarea National Park home to ancient palaces built for King Herod, a Roman amphitheater, historic port, and other Roman archaeological wonders, such as the Promontory Palace with the remains of its mosaic floor. • Visit Nazareth, rich with biblical history, including the Church of Annunciation, the Synagogue Church and Mary’s Well (time permitting). • Lunch en-route (on your own). • Enjoy a group boat ride on the Sea of Galilee and enjoy the spectacular views of this historically significant site. • Dinner en-route (on your own). • Drive to hotel and check in. DAY 6 – THURSDAY, DECEMBER 26TH – GALILEE (GUIDE & CAR) • Enjoy a full Israeli breakfast at the hotel and check out. • Visit the Mount of Beatitudes and enjoy the beautiful view of the northwestern shore of the Sea of Galilee. This site is believed to be the place where Jesus met his apostles after his resurrection, and is also home of the magnificent Church of Beatitudes. • Explore the ancient ruins of the village of Capernaum along the coast of the Sea of Galilee. Known as one of the three cities cursed by Jesus for its lack of faith, this historical site is home to an ancient synagogue and church, as well as Peter's House. • Continue to Ben Gurion Airport, . • 8:00 pm - Domestic Flight to Eilat - Airlines #1805 IZ (check-in opens at 6:30 pm), arriving at Eilat at 9:00 pm. DAY 8 – SATURDAY, DECEMBER 28TH – PETRA (JORDANIAN GUIDE & CAR) • Enjoy a full Israeli breakfast at the hotel. • Check out of the hotel and let them know you will be returning to the hotel the next day. • 8:15am - Transfer from your hotel to the Arava border. An Ahalan Olympus representative will meet you in the lobby and transport you to the border, where you’ll cross into Jordan. • Travel to Petra – a local guide will escort you to the famous site: o Experience the Rose Red Nabatean city. o Enter the city through the Siq and be rewarded with the most famous monument in Jordan: the Treasury. o See the theater, the tombs and façades, the colonnaded street, and more… • Drive to Wadi Rum and check in to camp. • Enjoy a traditional Bedouin feast at the camp. DAY 10 – MONDAY, DECEMBER 30TH – SOUTH (GUIDE & CAR) • Enjoy a full Israeli breakfast at the hotel and check out. • 9:00 am - Meet your guide again in the lobby of your hotel. • Enjoy an amazing hike in Timna Park, home to some of the Arava Desert’s greatest treasures. The park is full of geological, archaeological, and botanical wonders as well as numerous opportunities for recreational activities for the whole family. Discover the world’s first copper mine and marvel at the stunning natural rock formations. • 11:30 am - Tour Kibbutz Yotvata, the first kibbutz established in the Arava desert. Well known for its successful dairy industry, this kibbutz is an example of pioneering, community building, and development. • Continue to pastoral Ein Gedi near the Dead Sea and check into your hotel. • Float in the Dead Sea and benefit from the rejuvenating properties of its hypersaline water and mud. DAY 11 – TUESDAY, DECEMBER 31ST – JUDEAN DESERT (GUIDE & CAR) • Enjoy a full Israeli breakfast at the hotel and check out. • Ascend the fortress of Masada where the Zealots contested the might of Rome after the Destruction of the Second Temple. • Lunch (on own). • Afternoon Options: o Ein Gedi Nature Reserve – A spectacular natural desert oasis, where you can get up close with the stunning array of desert flora, take a dip in a refreshing desert spring, and cool off under a breathtaking waterfall. o Qumran National Park – This archaeological site contains the caves in which the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Though the scrolls themselves are on display at the Israel Musuem, a quick visit to Qumran will highlight the historical and archaeological significance of the site. • Continue to Tel Aviv and check in. • Dinner (on your own) at a local restaurant. • Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Tel Aviv. DAY 12 – WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 1ST – TEL AVIV (GUIDE & CAR) (NEW YEARS DAY) • Full Israeli breakfast at the hotel. • Explore the historic neighborhood of Old Jaffa, with its alleyways, flea market, and trendy port area, complete with restaurants and shopping for everyone. Make sure to stop by the historic Ottoman-era clock tower and St. Peter's Church. • Make your way through the narrow streets of Neve Tzedek and take in the unique atmosphere of the neighborhood’s design stores, fashion boutiques, and art galleries. • Lunch en-route (on own). • Stroll down Rothschild Boulevard, one of the most iconic streets in Tel Aviv. DAY 13 – THURSDAY, JANUARY 2ND –TEL AVIV AT LEISURE (ON OWN) • Full Israeli breakfast at the hotel. • Walk or Taxi (on own) to the meeting point of your tour: Hamalabiya, Gedera St 28, Tel Aviv • 10:00 am - Go on a tantalizing guided tour of the Carmel Market, packed with fresh produce, spices, and trinkets. Enjoy food tasting along the way and experience the real Israel at the heart of one of the country’s most vibrant cities. • Following the market tour, get a feel for the street art scene in Israel with a fascinating Graffiti Tour.
