Gaylord Entertainment Expands Its Brand by Renaming Cornerstone Sports, Productions; Steve Loy Named President of Gaylord Sports Management

March 3, 2000 NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 30, 2000--Two recent sports acquisitions are expanding the brand of Gaylord Entertainment Company (NYSE:GET) with new names. Cornerstone Sports now is Gaylord Sports Management, and Jack Nicklaus Productions now is Gaylord Event Television, according to the company.

The company also announced that Steve Loy has been named president and chief executive officer of Gaylord Sports Management. Loy previously was executive vice president of the firm, which Gaylord Entertainment acquired in 1998. It manages more than 20 professional clients including , Mark Brooks, Rachel Hetherington, Billy Mayfair and Rocco Mediate.

Gaylord Entertainment, headquartered in Nashville, has synergistic in interests in sports management, broadcasting, cable networks, the Internet and hospitality. Gaylord Sports Management and Gaylord Event Television are in Gaylord Entertainment's creative content group of businesses. Gaylord Event Television is based in Los Angeles, Calif., while Gaylord Sports Management has U.S. offices in Scottsdale, Ariz., and Dallas.

Gaylord Event Television, formerly Jack Nicklaus Productions, became part of Gaylord Entertainment in December 1999. Terry Jastrow, a seven-time Emmy Award-winning producer and one of its founders, is president.

Gaylord Event Television, a leading producer and marketer of television sports events, specials, computer games and home videos, is producing coverage of this week's Countrywide Tradition in Scottsdale, Ariz., one of the premier tournaments on the Senior PGA TOUR. At Gaylord Sports Management, Loy has directed the marketing efforts for Mickelson and has been responsible for recruiting current players such as Mayfair, Paul Stankowski and Wendy Ward. He also played a prominent role in building corporate marketing relationships with companies such as IBM and Rolex.

Gaylord Sports Management manages PGA TOUR, Senior PGA TOUR, BUY.COM TOUR and LPGA Tour golfers. Among its clients in addition to Mickelson, Mayfair, Stankowski and Ward are Jim Carter, Steve Flesch and Harrison Frazar. It recently added 1998 U.S. Amateur Champion , 2000 BUY.COM TOUR rookie Ryuji Imada, 1999 Kemper Open Champion Rich Beem, golf legend Miller Barber and broadcaster Peter Kessler of The Golf Channel.
