THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT ■ YOUR LOCAL CONSERVATIVES ARE CONTINUING TO WORK HARD FOR ALL OUR RESIDENTS

We would like to thank all of you who helped to elect Cllr Brian Roberts as Bucks County Councillor for South East. Due to boundary changes this area covers the district council seat of Elm Farm and Mandeville and the Bedgrove area covering: King Edward Avenue to the Turnfurlongs and also and Tring roads. Brian, said “I feel privileged to have been elected to represent the area, I thank all those that voted for me and promise I will work hard to represent you, whether you voted for me or not. I am pleased to be joining, Mark, Jenny and Tom, such a The Bedgrove team with Aylesbury MP strong team who’ve proved how hard they work for Bedgrove”. David Lidington at Jansel Square ready to answer residents questions. Unfortunately, Cllr Jenny Bloom did not win in the seat she was hoping to represent (Aylesbury East) which covers the remaining parts of Bedgrove, not represented by Brian and Oakfield ward. Jenny said “I would like to thank everyone who voted for me, although I wasn't successful at the County elections I will continue to work hard for Bedgrove residents like I have for the last 6 years as there is nothing I like more than helping and representing the people in the area I in which live”. HAMPDEN FIELDS UPDATE: WORKING HARD TO STOP THIS DEVELOPMENT Recently The printed a letter from Cllr Mark Winn, who has been working with local residents affected by the devastating proposals for 3000 houses to be built between Bedgrove & . Mark said, “I am privileged to been closely involved with local residents in the Hampden Fields Action Group (HFAG) fighting against these plans. The Group have done absolute brilliant work making so many residents aware of these plans, collating their responses and to put the case against at AVDC, where of course these plans were unanimously rejected. Unfortunately despite the developers having their plans unanimously rejected at AVDC, were given leave to appeal to the planning Inspectorate. The public meeting organised by your Conservative Bedgrove Councillors who have Thanks again to the generosity of the people of Aylesbury and the hard work of the HFAG, money has been raised opposed this development from day one. to get legal representation, a transport and landscape expert to fight the development at this appeal for resident.”

Cllr Tom Hunter-Watts added, “As all four of us are Aylesbury residents we know how congested the roads are already and come 4.30/5.00pm the Gyratory system as well as Wendover Road and Stoke Road are gridlocked. We are working with HFAG to make sure that all avenues are being looked into and fighting this proposal with everything we have.”

Aylesbury MP David Lidington said, “The Hampden Fields development if built would clearly have a devastating effect on the Bedgrove area. I responded to the consultation on Hampden Fields and expressed my opposition to the scheme and I was disappointed to see that the developers have asked Central Government to review the proposals rather than leaving the decision in the hands of local elected representatives. If you would like to see a copy of my response to the consultation please get in touch.”

The appeal started on 25th June at AVDC and is expected to run for at least 8 weeks with a decision from the Planning Inspector not anticipated until February next year. Fortunately we have a very strong case against the development. We will keep you updated of how it goes at the inquiry. Mark, Tom, Jenny, Brian and David Lidington MP are all united in their opposition to this unwanted development and are doing everything in their power to stop it.

WHAT WE HAVE DONE FOR YOU It has been just over three years since the Conservatives returned to Government after 13 years in opposition and in this time there are a lot of achievements we have accomplished.

 The deficit has been reduced by a third. When we came into office the financial mess left by Labour meant we were spending £120 million every day on debt interest payments alone.

 The number of people coming to the UK has fallen by over 80,000 in the last year meaning net immigration has fallen by a third. It is this Conservative led Government that has cut out the abuse from Aylesbury MP David Lidington at the Dispatch Box in the House of Commons the system and introduced a cap on workers from outside the EU.

 The benefits cap sends a powerful message that in this country it always pays to be in work and ensures that no household receives more in benefits than the average family.

 The increase in the personal allowance (with a further increase to come) has given 24 million hard-working people an income tax cut and lifted 6 million out of tax so far.

 The Conservatives are the only party with a chance of forming the next Government who are prepared to offer the British people a choice on whether to remain in the EU and we have published a draft bill to legislate for this referendum before the end of 2017.David Lidington would vote for this at its second reading debate.

 Unlike the Labour Party the Conservatives are committed to ensuring that the NHS continues to receive increases in its funding year on year. In every year of this Government the NHS budget has risen above inflation. We are the party of the NHS. Your MP David Lidington is always happy to raise any concerns you may have about local NHS services with either local healthcare managers or the Department for Health.
