It will give you the confidence to read for yourself and others. I'll show you how to select the right deck, how to look after your cards and provide the underlying meaning of the cards. I will also provide some techniques for developing a personal connection with the cards and how to read the cards intuitively. And, you do not need to be psychic to read Tarot! Everyone has some psychic ability, and it is a matter of connecting to your intuition and learning to trust what you feel and think. It is a skill that we can all develop with practice, over time. © Copyright Tarot Wisdom, www.tarotwisdom.com.au Tarot is amazing! We can use Tarot for divination or fortune-telling, spiritual growth, spirit guide communication, psychological analysis, meditation, visualization and manifestation. Tarot cards first appeared in Europe in 1450. However, standard playing cards have been used in divination by Islamic cultures for centuries. Today, the most widely-used Tarot deck is the Waite-Coleman Smith Deck because of its rich imagery. There are hundreds of beautifully illustrated modern Tarot decks available now, and these are all based on the original Waite-Smith deck. Divination & Fortune Telling Many people believe that Tarot is just a divination tool for fortune-telling. That Tarot is similar using a crystal ball, scrying mirror, I-Ching, pendulums, palmistry, astrology, tea- cups, runes, dowsing rods or spirit boards. As well as all these systems of divination, there are also other types of cards such as Oracle cards, Angel cards, Lenormand and Kipper. Tarot is different from other divination techniques as it is much more complex and structured. All Tarot decks comprise of 78 cards, Major and Minor Arcana with Four suits. Oracle cards vary in theme and the number of cards in a deck. Tarot is unique as it also looks at the psychological aspects, relates to archetypes and connects with synchronicity. Psychological Analysis We are unconsciously attracted to cards that reflect our situation, what is in our conscious mind and what is hidden deep in the subconscious. Many readers use Tarot as a tool for psychological analysis. The cards that we are attracted to and select often reveal what is going on in the subconscious mind. They reflect our beliefs, as well as emotions such as fear, guilt, anxiety, insecurity, possessiveness, grief, unhappiness and past pain. Tarot can be used to bring your issues to light so that you can address your problems and work through them. There may be some images in the cards that will have some significance, e.g. the dog in the Fool may relate to your dog or an experience that you had with a dog. Your connection with the cards is just as important as the traditional meanings of the cards. © Copyright Tarot Wisdom, www.tarotwisdom.com.au Manifestation, Visualisation & Meditation Tarot is a fabulous tool for visualisation and meditation. You can use a Tarot card for manifestation or meditation by focusing on the meaning of that card and drawing that energy into our lives. In 1937 Napoleon Hill said: “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the body can achieve”. What you focus on you manifest and create. Therefore you can use Tarot cards as the theme of your meditation. You could take the Temperance card, for example, and meditate on ways in which you can manifest a more balanced life. How you can create a harmonious lifestyle where there is a work-life balance, or we moderate our negative habits or behaviour. The cards can also use Tarot cards for visualisation. For example, you visualise yourself as the woman in the Nine of Pentacles, seeing yourself as successful and having your life filled with abundance. Or, you could use the Magician card to remind yourself that you have the skills and ability can manifest what you want in your life. That if you believe you can, you will. Spiritual Growth Tarot is not always about seeing what is coming up in the future. It can be so useful in helping us to understand ourselves better. Rather than focusing on questions like “Will he come back?”, “Is he the right one?” “When will Mr. Right come into my life?” a more pro-active approach would be to use Tarot to investigate the blockages that you have towards love and relationships. Perhaps you may be asking “Why don’t I ever have enough money?”, “Why do I feel so much unhappiness? I don’t know why I’m here” or “I don’t know my life purpose”. Tarot can uncover the limiting beliefs and blockages that prevent you from enjoying an abundant life or discovering your purpose in life. © Copyright Tarot Wisdom, www.tarotwisdom.com.au Spirit Guides Tarot can also be used to connect with our Spirit Guides. A reader can use Tarot cards to receive messages from spirit guides, guardian angels or loved ones who have passed. These messages can bring comfort, guidance in helping us with our problems or understanding as to what it is that we are here to do, our life purpose. Free Will It is always important to remember that although Tarot can reveal the energies around us, as well as possible outcomes, every one of us has free will. Nothing in the future is set in stone. We need to take responsibility for our own decisions and actions, as we are always able to change our destiny if we wish consciously. © Copyright Tarot Wisdom, www.tarotwisdom.com.au The Waite-Smith Deck (Rider Waite) is the most popular Tarot deck to use, especially when you begin, because of its abundant symbolism. Interpretation of the cards is more natural as the meanings are apparent from the symbols and images in the cards. If you learn Tarot using the Waite-Smith deck, you'll be able to read most Tarot Deck that are available today - and there are hundreds of them! The Sacred Circle and the Wildwood Tarot are both Wiccan-based Tarot decks, and the Mythic Tarot uses Mythology as its theme. Choose a Tarot deck that resonates with you. The appearance of the cards is important. Some cards have borders, keywords, astrological or Kabbalistic symbols. If you understand the meaning of these added symbols, it provides another layer of information. However, some people find these are distracting. In addition, you may find that you were attracted to some cards in a deck, but don't connect with the whole pack. If you find that you don't connect with the entire deck, select another one that you do like. Aeclectic Tarot has a website, www.aeclectic.net, where you can see a review on individual decks, and this may help you to get a feel before you buy. © Copyright Tarot Wisdom, www.tarotwisdom.com.au A Tarot deck is incredibly special and should be treated with love and respect! It's important to cleanse the cards regularly, especially if you're doing lots of readings or if you have read for a client who was stressed, negative or aggressive. If your cards are beginning to feel heavy or sticky, then you'll need to cleanse them. Here are some tips for the most effective ways in which to cleanse your Tarot deck : • Shuffle the cards thoroughly using a 3-pile shuffle or messy shuffle. Make sure that the cards are all upright at the end • Using a Tibetan singing bowl or bell over the deck will also cleanse the cards as the vibrations from the sound will disperse negative energies • Put the cards under the Full Moon to cleanse the cards using a “Moon Bath” • Salt is extremely purifying, so giving the deck a salt burial to remove the energetic residue from your previous readings. Bury your deck in a bowl of sea salt crystals overnight and through away the salt afterwards. • Smudge the deck with a sage, smudge stick or incense. © Copyright Tarot Wisdom, www.tarotwisdom.com.au In between readings, you may want to wrap your deck in silk and keep your Tarot deck either in a beautiful Tarot Bag or a Tarot Box. You can also place a crystal on top of the deck for protection and ward off negative energies. The cards are special and should be treated with care, love and respect, so store them in a beautiful way. However, keep them away from water, moisture, heat and sunlight as these will damage the cards. © Copyright Tarot Wisdom, www.tarotwisdom.com.au It is a great idea to keep a personal Tarot Journal to record your special meaning for the cards and also your experiences with Tarot. The Journal can be a lovely leather-bound book with blank pages, a note book, a binder with loose sheets that you can add to or simple stored electronically on your computer, but remember to regularly back it up! The last two are great as you are not limited and can continually add to the journal. You may want to record readings that stood out for you, your daily card readings or the personal meanings that you have for individual cards.

Tarot Card Meanings with Benebell A Seventeen-Part Video Lecture Series Part VI: The Fours The video length for The Fours became unduly long, so for those who might not be able to sit through and take notes during the entirety of the lecture, here is an illustrated transcript of that lecture. Thank you for watching this educational series, Tarot Card Meanings with Benebell. Don’t forget: closed captioning is provided for every video in this course. So, if that’s something you’re interested in, be sure to click and turn those on. We started this course with the Aces in the sephirah Keter on the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. Keter is the Tao, the name that cannot be named, the nameless origin of Heaven and Earth, the infinite and the dynamic. Then we moved into Chokhmah, the Supernal Father, the Divine Yang, the seed and potential, or Divine Intelligence, where we studied the realm of Twos in the Minor Arcana. From there, we passed into Binah, the Supernal Mother, the Divine Yin, birth, and formation, the receiving power of perception and observation. Here in Binah, we studied the Threes. We then moved back to Chokhmah because that’s where the Kings reside, the Supernal Father. And then it was back to Binah, the Supernal Mother, for the Kings’ consorts, the Queens. We are now moving from the Supernal Triangle, which is where we’ve been dwelling for the last five videos, into the lower sephiroth, getting closer to Malkuth, though we are not quite there yet. To give us a bit of a break from the intense tarot courts, we’re going to study the Fours, residents in the sephira Chesad.

DIVINATION SYSTEMS Written by Nicole Yalsovac Additional sections contributed by Sean Michael Smith and Christine Breese, D.D. Ph.D. Introduction Nichole Yalsovac Prophetic revelation, or Divination, dates back to the earliest known times of human existence. The oldest of all Chinese texts, the I Ching, is a divination system older than recorded history. James Legge says in his translation of I Ching: Book Of Changes (1996), “The desire to seek answers and to predict the future is as old as civilization itself.” Mankind has always had a desire to know what the future holds. Evidence shows that methods of divination, also known as fortune telling, were used by the ancient Egyptians, Chinese, Babylonians and the Sumerians (who resided in what is now Iraq) as early as six‐thousand years ago. Divination was originally a device of royalty and has often been an essential part of religion and medicine. Significant leaders and royalty often employed priests, doctors, soothsayers and astrologers as advisers and consultants on what the future held. Every civilization has held a belief in at least some type of divination. The point of divination in the ancient world was to ascertain the will of the gods. In fact, divination is so called because it is assumed to be a gift of the divine, a gift from the gods. This gift of obtaining knowledge of the unknown uses a wide range of tools and an enormous variety of techniques, as we will see in this course. No matter which method is used, the most imperative aspect is the interpretation and presentation of what is seen.

  • Probability and the Tarot the Tarot Is a Deck of Cards Somewhat Like The
Problem set: Probability and the Tarot The Tarot is a deck of cards somewhat like the common standard deck of 52 playing cards. Over the past few hundred years, both decks have been used both for playing games and for fortune-telling and divination. The Tarot consist of four suits, cups, pentacles, swords and wands, each having an Ace through ten and a page, knight, queen and king, as well as 22 more cards, the major arcana consisting of such figures as the Magician, the Fool, the Heirophant, Death, etc. The major arcana are numbered 0 through 21. Thus the tarot contains 78 cards in all. A Tarot card reading has two participants, the reader, who manages and interprets the cards, and the querent who asks a question. A simple reading might consist of three cards chosen randomly to represent the past, the present, and the future. 1. In a three card, past, present, and future reading, if Death is in the past, what is the probability that both the present and the future are major arcana? 2. We say that a three card reading is a straight if the three numbers associated to the cards are consecutive. Here we associate 11 to the page, 12 to the knight, 13 to the queen, and 14 to the King of any suit. Aces are interpreted as one's and the major arcana get their associated number of 0 to 21. What is the probability that a three card reading is a straight? We say that a straight is increasing if the numbers increase going from past to present to future.

  • Nine of Swords: the Haunt
BOOK OF MAPS (PREVIEW CHAPTERS ONLY) Nine of Swords: The Haunt Card Description: Restful sleep eludes her. She sits upright in bed, face buried in hand, in slight fetal position. The horned shadow hovering over her from behind is The Haunt. Etched into the side of the figure’s medieval-style bed is an astrological table of essential dignities. Starting with the top row, left to right, after the glyph for Fire is Aries, then Mars, its planetary ruler, and Venus, which is exiled or detrimental in Aries. Next is Taurus, then its planetary ruler Venus, and then Mars, which is in detriment under Taurus, and so on. 1 NINE OF SWORDS: THE HAUNT The backdrop is that of a crypt underneath a medieval cathedral. The three circular seals along the left column, covered by the spirit of The Haunt, is, top to bottom, the First Pentacle of Mars from the Key of Solomon, then Paracelsus’s first zodiac seal for Gemini, and then his second zodiac seal for Gemini. To the right, first is the Magic Ring of Solomon from the Goetia. Below it is the AGLA Seal of Divine Protection from Demons, and finally, the Fourth Pentacle of Mercury, a magical seal used to acquire knowledge, to reveal that which is hidden, and to command the Allatori spirits. Mercury is the planetary ruler of Gemini, so its Seal is placed here to amplify your personal strength and fine-tune your perceptivity. The four rectangular tablets forming the two columns of the archway are magical tablets for healing from the Book of Abramelin the Mage, Book III, Chapter 18, “To Heal Diverse Maladies,” with the letters written in Agrippa’s Celestial Alphabet.

    0. THE FOOL This card represents youth, freedom, and the beginning of a jour- ney. The Fool is the wild card, capable of infinite possibilities and paths towards the future. It represents unlimited and unfettered freedom of the soul. In a negative context, this card can indicate naiveté and ignorance of the world, as well as reckless or risky behaviour that may put oneself or others into danger. I. THE MAGICIAN This card represents the realization of incredible potential. The Magician is creative, powerful, and awe-inspiring, often being seen as an ideal for those around them. In a negative context, this card warns against falling into mediocrity, as well as an inability to live up to one’s idea of greatness, or an inability to communicate meaningfully with others. It also indicates confusion, frustration, stagnation and succumbing to self-doubt or insecurity. II. THE HIGH PRIESTESS This card represents the power of knowledge and wisdom. The High Priestess’s inaction is a result of having done all that they can and knowing that the rest is in the universe’s hands, choos- ing to rely on their intuition, experience and intelligence to guide them. The High Priestess is calm and possesses extroardinary insight. In a negative context, this card can indicate a lack of personal harmony; someone whose judgement is clouded by stress and uncertainty, often overly concerned with the lives of others around them. III. THE EMPRESS This card represents the concept of motherhood, as well as the guidance and rulership of a matriarchal figure. The Empress has dominion over all life, and is the loving, nurturing figure of the Major Arcana.

Tarosophy® Paper #1 Tarot in the Marketplace Marcus Katz Tarot in the Marketplace: Half your Market Thinks You Are Evil. Marketing Considerations for Professional Tarot Readers 0. Introduction This Tarosophy® Paper #1 presents various considerations for those looking to market their Tarot reading or work. It is based on my own experience over the last thirty years, international work, communications training and MBA material. If it appears commercial, it is. If it appears to represent a less than spiritual approach to Tarot, it isn’t – it is merely looking at only the mundane matters of marketing. My work on spiritual and magical considerations of Tarot can be found elsewhere. As marketing is an art as well as science, these are my own personal opinions and you may discover your own in experience. 0.1 What is Marketing? Marketing is not advertising, it is the science and art of considering four elements: Fire: You Water: The Market Earth: Your Product Air: Communication We should add in the fifth element, Aether, which you might also consider: Aether: The Law There are many concepts and tools to bind these elements together harmoniously. No text on the subject can be comprehensive, otherwise Marketing Directors, Consultants and Authors of Marketing books would be out of a job very quickly.
