Clipping goes digital

According to the official Box Tops for Education website, https://www.boxtops4education.com/ , big changes are coming for the future of the collection process. Over the course of the next few years, the standard pink corners to clip will be replaced by the “No More Clipping” icon above. In fact, the new im- age is already starting to make it’s appearance on packages. The website, BTFE.com states that they will be updating their mobile app (Box Tops for Education Bonus, see image below) this June to accom- modate the new digital “clipping” process. It states that users will upload the app, create an account that is linked to our school and simply scan your shopping receipt. The website states, “With thousands of products and hundreds of brands, this will take some time, but that will be the eventual direction of the program. We’ll continue to honor all the physical clips until they reach their expiration dates, as long as they are validly submitted by coordinators, so keep clipping and sending them to you school!” So, right now is the time to work diligently as a community because most brands are awarding both the clippings and the receipt scan earnings during this time of transition! For more information, visit BTFE.com. Clipped tops can be rubberbanded, collected inn baggies, or on the next page is a collection sheet that can be printed for clips to be glued on. However they’re collected, please turn them into Susan Lambert in the office. Thank You!

Board Policy on Drug-Free Schools

In accordance with Federal Law, the Board of Education prohibits the use, possession, concealment, or distribution of drugs by students on school grounds, in school or school-approved vehicles, or at any school- related event. Drugs include any alcoholic beverage, anabolic steroid, dangerous con- trolled substance as defined by State statute, or substance that could be considered a “look-a-like” controlled substance. Compli- ance with this policy is mandatory for all students. Any student who violates this policy will be subject to disciplinary action, in accordance with due process and as speci- fied in the student handbooks, up to an in- cluding expulsion from school. When re- quired by State law, the District will also notify law enforcement officials. The District is concerned about any student who is a victim of alcohol or drug abuse and will facilitate the process by which s/he re- ceives help through programs and services available in the community.

Students and their parents should contact the school principal or counseling office when- ever such help is needed
