NOMINATIONS & VOTING SYSTEM

The Bar Awards nominations and voting system (NAVS) is designed around objectivity and transparency providing the truest results and awarding the best establishments across the Asian bar and beverage scene.

Each event begins with the Lead Panel (a group of around ten leaders of industry of that city) determining the categories and also deciding on the who should be on The Panel (the group of assessors for that city).

Once the categories and The Panel has been decided, The Bar Awards opens with a public nomination process allowing for members of the public to give their favorite bars and bartenders a “thumbs up”. Bars and individuals can nominate themselves and/or their establishment.

The public nominations are followed by two rounds of voting by The Panel, which consists of around 40 industry members covering all aspects of the F&B industry, including bar professionals, owners, drink connoisseurs, journalists, and chefs.

The Top 10 The Panel then awards points to their top picks of the candidates from the public nominations round. From these votes, The Bar Awards editorial team then tallies the results and compiles a list of the Top 10 establishments and individuals in each category.

The Winner After the Top 10 has been determined by The Panel, they are asked again to vote for their top candidate in each category. Again, the editorial team tallies the results and those with the highest number of points are deemed the winners.

The winners are announced at The Bar Awards party.
