Estudiar al mismo, es sin lugar a dudas hacer un viaje en el tiempo en el Ajedrez, pues obligatoriamente para comprender este sistema hay que aprender sobre partidas con más de cien años de antigüedad, así como la característica de los jugadores de que la practicaron en sus comienzos. Gary Kasparov en sus “geniales” libros Mis Geniales Predecesores, describe al Gambito de Dama Rehusado como la apertura de los encuentros por el Campeonato Mundial, y no es para menos ya que en muy pocas citas a faltado. Bueno y que mejor merito que el de tener la reputación de haber servido durante más de cien años en la disputa del máximo titulo a nivel mundial. La primera partida que se tiene registro del Gambito de Dama, data del 1620. En otras palabras, es una apertura que consta con más de 385 años, casi cuatro siglos de antigüedad. Claro que los sistemas comenzaron a surgir en la misma medida que iba evolucionando y desarrollándose la propia apertura, de ahí salió La Defensa Eslava, La Defensa Semi-Eslava, El Gambito de Dama, y dentro del Gambito de Dama Rehusado un sinnúmeros de variantes y sistemas, dentro de la cual se encuentra el sistema que estudiaremos en este pack.
