Joan hails from Brisbane where she is a well-known teacher and has owned and operated a bridge club there for 17 years. She has a BA, Dip Ed & Dip Ed Psych and has written bridge books for beginners and intermediates.

Joan organises bridge holidays and has taught on cruise ships around the world. She has been a guest speaker at American Bridge Teachers Annual Conventions, as recently as July 2006 (Chicago).
