6) Supplemental Recruitment Initiatives.

(a) Initiative: Participate in job fairs with station personnel who have substantial responsibility and authority for hiring.

(i) Woodbridge Community Center Job Fair On 3/25/15 - Promotions coordinator and on air personality for WCTC participated in the Woodbridge Community Center Job Fair. Prospective employees and interns were provided with information regarding available Greater Media New Jersey job openings. Resumes were accepted and questions regarding career opportunities in the broadcast industry and the application process were answered.

(b) Participate in events sponsored by organizations representing community groups interested in broadcast employment issues, including conventions, career days, workshops, and similar activities.

(i) Perth Amboy Improvement District Business Expo On 10/1/15, The WMGQ/WCTC Street Team and Creative Services Director attended the Perth Amboy Improvement District Business Expo at the ZPA Banquet Hall in Perth Amboy, New Jersey from 5:30p to 8:30p. The WMGQ/WCTC Street Team set up a table promoting the stations. Prospective employees and interns were provided with information regarding available Greater Media New Jersey job/intern openings. Resumes were accepted and questions regarding career opportunities and the application process were answered by the hiring manager on-site.

(ii) Women’s Leadership Summit On 10/21/15, The WMGQ/WCTC Street Team attended the Women's Leadership Summit along with Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce in New Brunswick, NJ at this all day event . The WMGQ/WCTC Street Team set up a table promoting the stations. Prospective employees and interns were provided with information regarding available Greater Media New Jersey job/intern openings. Resumes were accepted and questions regarding career opportunities and the application process were answered by the hiring manager on-site.

(c) Initiative: Establish an internship program designed to train local students and community members in the skills and experience needed to procure employment in the broadcast field.

(i) WMGQ/WCTC Internship Program Date: Ongoing (1/23/15 – 1/22/16)

WMGQ/WCTC runs an ongoing internship program that is advertised on the station websites and through notifications and internship fairs with local colleges. Internships are offered in Promotions with opportunities to explore other departments such as On- Air, Production, and Sales. Students are required to commit at least one office day per week. All internships stress hands-on involvement with the relevant departments.

During the reporting period the following colleges have had or currently have interns at WMGQ/WCTC: Kean University, Middlesex County College, Joseph Kohn Training Center/Center for Vocational Rehabilitation, Monmouth University, University of Maryland, Rutgers University, Kean University, Towson University, Raritan Valley Community College, Pennsylvania State University, Mercer County Community College, North Brunswick High School, Franklin High School and Rider University. Approximately 16 interns worked with the stations during the reporting period.

Two members from CVR (The Center for Vocational Rehabilitation) did an internship program with the promotions department for a few weeks. During the internship, students were taught how to use software, learned various skills/techniques and daily functions done in the promotions department. CVR is a facility for individuals with disabilities. For more than a half century, CVR has provided what people with disabilities need most for their own self-respect and the esteem of others: WORK. CVR facilitates personal growth and helps bring dignity and respect to the people it serves through a variety of vocational and partial care rehabilitation programs.

(d) Initiative: Participate in other activities designed by the station employment unit reasonably calculated to further the goal of disseminating information on broadcasting employment opportunities to job candidates or future job candidates who might otherwise be unaware of such opportunities.

(i) Middlessex County Chamber of Commerce (MCCRC) Networking Party On 9/28/15, Magic 98.3, WCTC and MCCRC sponsored the Middlesex Chamber of Commerce's Largest Networking Party, which brings hundreds of businesses and clients together for an evening of information exchange. The station and WCTC's Morning Host attended along with the promotions coordinator and the sales staff. The staff explained what radio can do for local businesses and the community and fielded questions. The event was held at The Hyatt Regency Hotel in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

(ii) Katz Intern Training On 6/13/15, WCTC/WMGQ hosted Katz Media Group's Intern Training Seminar. Katz's interns were given a station tour, the opportunity to sit with on-air personalities as they performed and the chance to meet with station management and learn how each department functions. Career options within radio were discussed, and the interns’ questions were answered.

(iii) Middlesex Workforce Investment Board WMGQ/WCTC Station Manager serves as a board member and attends quarterly meetings of the Middlesex County Workforce Investment Board. The board’s purpose is to: Better understand the present and future workforce needs in Middlesex County; support the creation and retention of Middlesex County jobs, including those in the broadcast industry; develop strategies that address industry sectors' workforce needs; ensure that the Middlesex County One Stop programs help job seekers with workplace skills; and advocate for education and training to prepare students with the skills essential in the global economy.

(iv) Station Tours to Scout Troops, Schools and Community Groups Each quarter, community groups, scout troops, and schools tour the radio station. The students see how equipment operates, learn how on-air personalities prepare for an air shift, and observe how different departments work together to keep a radio station running. Specific duties of each department are discussed, career options within radio are discussed, and students’ questions are answered.

e. Initiative: Provide training to management level personnel as to methods of ensuring equal employment opportunity and preventing discrimination

(i) Equal Opportunity Training On 4/15/15, the Greater Media HR Manager and regional office managers attended Equal Employment Opportunity Training presented by the Greater Media corporate legal department. EEO best practices and public file reporting requirements were discussed.
