ANSWER

MINISTER OF STATE FOR TOURISM (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) (SHRI PRAHLAD SINGH PATEL)

(a) to (d): Development and Promotion of Tourism is primarily the responsibility of the State Government.

The Ministry of Tourism, under the schemes of Swadesh Darshan and ‘National Mission on Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD)’ provides financial assistance to State Governments/Union Territory (UT) Administrations/Central Agencies for development of tourism infrastructure in consultation with them. The projects under these schemes are sanctioned subject to availability of funds, submission of suitable Detailed Project Reports, adherence to scheme guidelines and utilization of funds released earlier etc. Sanctioning of projects under these schemes is a continuous process however there is no proposal under consideration for sanctioning of new projects under Swadesh Darshan scheme. The Ministry of Tourism as part of its Swadesh Darshan scheme has sanctioned a project ‘Development of - Khajuraho-Chanderi – Bhimbetka - Mandu’ in the year 2016-17 under heritage theme; wherein components like Tourist Facilitation Centre near Qila Kothi, tourist facilities, amenities & site development around Beju Bawara Samadhi, Chakla Bawari, Dilli Darwaza, Dholia Darwaza etc. in Chanderi are included.

The details of projects sanctioned in Madhya Pradesh under ‘Swadesh Darshan’ and ‘PRASHAD’ schemes are annexed.
