WBCA Annual Report 2018-19 | 21 LOOKING AHEAD

Dear member,

Having humbly accepted the ceremonial gavel from Jen Rizzotti, I promise to work diligently to deliver on the faith you have placed in me as your new president. Thanks so much to Jen for her leadership over the past two years. She will remain on the WBCA Board of Directors as immediate past president and both , our new vice president, and I will rely heavily on her advice and guidance.

I will work closely with Danielle Donehew, our executive director, and the board to maintain the respect our association has worked so hard to achieve. As the board and staff continue to execute our current strategic plan, I have identified these three areas on which I will focus my efforts as president over the next two years:

1. Encourage former players of the sport to become coaches at all levels of competition, and promote the sport to prospective players and fans alike by extolling the positive experiences realized by those who coach, play, support and follow the game.

2. Increase scholastic (middle and high school) coach membership numbers by acknowledging the important role they play in teaching the game to young players and introducing them to the benefits of WBCA membership.

3. Develop programs and/or platforms that assist member coaches in helping their student-athletes to succeed in life once their playing careers have ended.

As this annual report illustrates, the WBCA is in an unprecedented state of Cullop prosperity and strength. Never before has our association been held in such high regard by our governing bodies. The WBCA is no longer just seen as a leader in women’s basketball, but as a leader in sports. Our house is in order. Our vision is clear. Our mission and objectives are defined. Our code of ethics is concrete.

I wish each of you success in the upcoming year.

My best,

Tricia Cullop WBCA President
