We are thrilled that you have chosen to pursue your studies at our University. We are the International Student Services Centre (ISSC) and we want to support you having a good start at Bielefeld University. This handbook will provide you the most important information that you will need following your admission as you begin preparing for your arrival and stay. It advises you on the next steps to take regarding e.g. enrolment, finding accommodation and taking out a health insurance policy and also provides you with information about the central University organizations, associations and programs that support international students during their studies. Each semester the International Student Services Centre (ISSC) organizes Orientation Days for international (degree-seeking) students which provides you with important information about the University and the city of Bielefeld. The Orientation Days will take place at the University but also online. We are looking forward to meet you! If you have any questions or should you run into difficulties, please come speak to us in the International Office.

    Staff Groupleader Gölzhäuser, Prof. Dr. Armin Armin Gölzhäuser received his Ph.D. in 1993 from the University of Heidelberg. He then was a Feodor Lynen Fellow at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. This work has been funded by ABN AMRO Private Banking and has primarily complemented earlier work at CSI on high impact strategies in philanthropy by including case studies from countries previously not included in the scope of our research – primarily France and the Netherlands.
